Cool Precision Workstations / Laptops have it too!

You might want to add the Dell Precision M6300 line to it too.
So was the M90 already (but will be gone by November!). And the M4300 will have it soon too.
They include the Panasonic UJ-220 by the way! I have it and still looking to get somewhere a firmware, even original, to flash it. Dell blocks the RAM option with those drives!
Regards

A lot of the higher-end custom builders also offer Blu-ray drive options on most of their products. The ones I know of:

VoodooPC -- desktops
Velocity Micro -- desktops and home theater PCs
Falcon Northwest -- desktops
GamePC -- desktops and workstations
Vigor Gaming -- desktops
Maingear -- desktops
Cellar Cinemas -- home theater PCs
S1Digital -- home theater PCs
VidaBox -- home theater PCs

added. Not sure if there is option for HD DVD as well, so I coloured it black. VidaBox, I know it's dual, so its red.

This thread is to help beginner in computer to decide buying BD laptops. Please expand it if possible.

If you are advanced, you can buy anything you want, and get slimline BD drive and install it. Mind that this does not apply to Toshiba and ASUS laptops.

Wouldn't want that XPS due to the videocard being an ATI x 1800. As much as alot of you guys hate HD-DVD. I hate ATI x2 to the amount of which you hate HD-DVD. Plus I think it's a slot loaded drive and you gotta fork out nearly 5 grand for that system, and tell you can't find a better system that runs for 5 grand? And if you really need the 20 inch screen I'd rather settle for the Clevo or Clevo wanna-be's (alienware, sager) and get the 19 inch notebook with SLI.

believe me, I HATE ATI. I got no choice. The first thing I looked up is the processor (must be intel), screen size (biggest). I ended up with 2 things that I hate with my new notebook. One of them, I plan to replace HD DVD to BD drive internally, and will use HD DVD externally as DVD player (already got USB enclosure even before getting that laptop)

I do not have a BD/HD capable laptop, but am wondering something. Do any of these laptops have an HDMI output? Hence, are any of them able to send a BD disc, audio and video, to an HDMI monitor? If so, how is the audio transported? Meaning, do these drives bitstream the lossless audio out? Let me know, as I am curious to their capabilities.

some of them has HDMI, but I am sure Dell XPS M1730 does not. Instead, DVI port

My VGN-AR190G does - most of the other AR Series also do.

ever wonder? I have on of that inferior format model (I got no choice - in order to get 20 inch).
It's Toshiba (exclusive), HP (dual), Rock (exclusive), Acer (dual), Asus (dual).
This forum might not be the best place to talk about this. besides I won't waste my energy of listing all inferior format's pc/laptops. No way I am going to do that.
