My God. I'm actually seriously considering getting this. Haven't seen it in decades but it affected me strongly as a child. I used to play the heck out of the record book back in the '70s...I shudder to think of how many people born in the '80s and '90s just read that last sentence and don't have the foggiest clue what I'm talking about. Eh, let's be honest...if they were born in the '80s or '90s, they're probably not checking this thread at all...

I wonder if this is just to revive the brand.
What's next Shaggy D.A. and C.H.O.M.P.S.?? I saw the '77 Benji in the theatres. As cute as the brand was it didnt make it out of the 70's. I wonder if they could actually drum up some extra features? |

Not sure if I've seen this or not. I remember seeing Oh Heavenly Dog in the theaters though.

I got this today. I remember seeing it many times when I was a kid and thought my daughter would like it (she's almost 4). Picture quality it pretty poor, not much better than a DVD. The print is also far from perfect as you can see a few specks and scratches here and there. As was mentioned, it's fullframe. I honestly wasn't expecting much in terms of PQ so I can't say I'm surprised.

Absolutely hideous. THE, without a close peer, worst Blu-ray I've ever seen. It's not even really DVD quality but, in some ways, VHS quality (and I don't say that to be hyperbolic or overdramatic) with the worst "rainbow shimmer" aliasing I've ever seen since the days of videotape. Add in the fact that an "off the shelf" print was used, it's in the specious 1.33:1 format and has absolutely zero extras and this makes for the most condescending throw-away effort I've yet come across. Certainly not worth the $11.99 I paid for it, and not even the $5 price point some here have said they'd jump at. But, hey, it was for nostalgia's sake and for my young kids' enjoyment, so what the hey--it's "only" $11.99. Let's be honest, there's very little chance in Hades we'll ever see another hi-def release of this forgotten gem, so it is what it is...
