Default Where do I buy imports?

What is the easiest way to purchase imported Blu-rays?

I'm looking to get the German copy of "A Fistful of Dollars", but where do I go?

Thanks.

I've bought a couple titles from them with no problems.

How do you pay for them? I've never bought anything overseas.

You should be able to use a credit card with any non-US amazon site. I think they may give you an option to use their currency converter for a fee so you are billed in your native currency, but the best way is if you have a credit card with no foreign transaction fees.

Translate the website to English, and login. Add the item to your cart, then proceed, and checkout regularly, as if you were purchasing from Amazon U.S, or any other online store. Amazon.de, will convert the currency from Euros to USD.

Wish my Amazon Prime entitled me to free shipping from non-USA Amazon websites The shipping charge really bumps up the overall price per item

Amazon international websites, do not charge an additional fee to customers to convert foreign currencies to USD, or vice-versa.

They do for me!

They offer an exchange rate using their currency converter and it is always a few percent more than if I pay with my credit card which has no foreign transaction fees. They are offering the service at a small cost to the customer (the fee being the very slightly higher exchange rate), not for free. Their rate may be better if your card charges a foreign transaction fee, however.

I don't follow you're logic, but I'm falling asleep anyways, so I'll believe you...

on my Amazon international orders my BA card charges a foreign transaction fee. [damn it]

I gather though if a company like Arrow, that you with Paypal no fees are added - right?

Well, it is if you opt to use the "Amazon Currency Converter" but it isn't listed as a separate charge. I meant the conversion rate they will give you is worse than the actual rate... you can test it out by putting items in your cart, seeing that the total in US dollars is after the amazon conversion, then compare it to the actual currency conversion at current rates via xe.com

On my last order it would have been $3 more to use the amazon.co.uk currency converter as opposed to paying with my credit card that has no foreign transaction fees.... ymmv though!

I've calculated the price of the item with tax included, and there was an extra $3.51 added to the total amount.

I had no idea about this. Thank you. I will keep this in mind in the future. I always thought there was no additional charge, but as you said, I guess they give you a lower conversion value.

DaaVeeDee.com sells many imports, sometimes cheaper than from foreign sources.

What's the best way to translate the amazon.de website? I've tried using a few methods but they don't work very well.

When I did get to a checkout for an item, it said unable to ship to the USA, had to ship to the UK somewhere.

I have found the weirdest thing lately with Amazon UK - the price actually goes down when I purchase it. TNG season 5 was on for 45 Pounds but when it rang up, it showed as 37.50 so even the little extra for shipping to Canada didn't really hurt. Has happened with my last 3 bluray purchases.

That's because you don't have to pay VAT (Value Added Tax). Only U.K. residents are required to pay that.

Honestly, the easiest way is just to open amazon.com in another tab and compare. All the buttons are in the same spots.

Or go here
