Default The "Amazon is not shipping my order yet!" thread

I pre-ordered 2001 back when it was first up for pre-order, and now that it is suppose to be available, Amazon tells me it won't ship for another 2 days or so. I know it's not that long, but why the delay?
The release date is today, and usually they are right on time (if not early). But this title is going to take an extra 2 days or so. Could it be that this is such a popular title that it sold out in pre-orders in the first few days?

For that matter, how do they determine who gets the titles first when their stock is short? Isn't it first come first serve?

This has been par for the course for my orders on Amazon. I preorder and sometimes they ship a week later than the release date. I'm getting really tired of ordering from Amazon because of this.

The best way to deal with Amazon shipping issues is to join Prime. My pre-orders release very fast and most times movies than are released on Tuesday are shipped out on Monday. I love Prime.

i think they purposely introduce delay so that you will want to sign up for prime or choose express shipping.

I have prime and I pre-ordered: Clockwork, 2001, Shining, Full Metal Jacket, and HOstel 2.

Only HOstel 2 has shipped...

Cancel your order and go to BB or CC today to pick up these titles. I had to cancel my order w/ Amazon back when FF2 came out, because they did not ship it on time.

Mine hasn't shipped, but I haven't received a delay notice either. Hmm.

Maybe I should get prime too - we order stuff from them all the time, lots of books and CDs in addition to blu-rays.

I don't believe they do a delay on purpose they just have to get ALL of the 2 day shipping out "That Day". As you know Blu is selling well.

As I recommended before get together with a few people on PRIME. It's so worth it if you can divide up the cost.

Mine hasn't shipped either and I have prime, obviously they don't have them in stock since it now says they ship in 5-6 weeks on the product pages

This is Warner's fault not Amazon.

Perhaps Warner just hasn't gotten these titles out to Amazon, but that sounds like a mistake as Amazon is one of their biggest retailers.
It could be a number of things, but I wish they would honor the release dates more consistently.

All of the titles that you guys are complaining about are Warner titles. It is their fault, just look at how messed up the online orders are from their website. They will give top priority to retail giants like BB and CC and stock them first because thats where alot of people will go to get movies, but as far as the delay goes, it is not because of Amazon.

No delays at all the BBY local to me. They have all of the movies so there is definitely no delay for the Kubricks.

That is what I believe. I canceled every pre-order I had with Amazon and placed those orders with deepdiscount. It costs a few dollars more, but from my experience they ship their pre-orders on time.
