On the late ‘00s WB set, a lot of the music was screwed up due to incompetence. Doubtful they’ll be corrected, but it’ll be nice to see these in legit HD.

Really? Someone did a thorough DIY restoration of the Fleischer Superman shorts and found no differences on Arctic Giant between the Bosko and Warner sets.

It’s been a while since I watched the set, so I wrongly assumed the restored transfer that MeTV aired recently, which was reportedly missing footage, was the same. Apologies for the error. Hope they remember to fix the music.

Some of the Famous shorts are genuinely mangled, having the prologue from the first short instead of their own. That definitely needs to be fixed

The MeTV copies came from Fleischer's family. At least, that's what I remember Bill the Cartoon Curator saying.

There’s also the “truthjustice” audio error during the opening narration. When they streamed the Fleischer shorts on DC Universe a few years ago, that error still remained.

I'm involved with the Fleischer project run by Jane Fleischer. That Superman they ran sure wasn't from her, although there have at least been three that were. (Somewhere in Dreamland, Christmas Comes But Once a Year, and the Jam Handy Rudolph.) MeTV has made on-air errors before, though.

Well this just became my most anticipated release of the year! Superman (or The Mad Scientist) is one of my favorite superhero adaptations across all media. These shorts should look gorgeous properly restored.

There's a Looney Tunes set called Collector's Choice coming out in May, but we surprisingly know less about that set than this one.

It could be anything from the true successor to the Golden Collection DVD's to lazy repackagings of shorts already released on Blu-ray.
