Since they are releasing a 4K on the same day, a regular BD will likely be a remaster.

Please let the blu ray be remastered as well!

I love the current transfer but I'll take a 4K remaster. It should be though. Doesn't make much sense to only release the UHD with the new remaster

Good LORD!!!

How many times does this need to be released?! I think I've finally cracked! Haha! I can't take the same 5-6 films being re-released over and over again...

That being said, if all special features are finally ported over, and the trailers presented in proper HD, at LEAST, I might actually put it in my collection.

Now, if you want to release the uncut Die Hard 2 & 3, Fox, I'm ALL about it.

It happens though. A Few Good Men comes to mind.

Definitely a case of read reviews/comments before ordering. I do hope it's the remastered version.

If this is a proper remaster, and includes all of the previously-released DVD extras left off the old Blu, I will totally buy it again.

Does a movie being released on UHD for the first time automatically mean it's "remastered"? I was never clear on this. I've read about a new HD scan of Die Hard having been made years ago, which I assume is what will be used for this 30th Anniversary release, but I'm still curious if Fox would be cheap (and stupid) enough to recycle the same old master yet again.

No. I believe there are a couple examples of the BD included with a 4K release still being an older transfer.

More than a couple, it seems to be the exception to have a remastered BD included.

I have yet to buy Die Hard on blu-ray (I still have the old 2 disc dvd version) so I'm hoping this is a newer transfer. The current blu-ray has been out since 2007 according to the database so definitely time for a newer transfer.

Yeah, if this is finally a remastered version and gets a standalone Blu-ray release, I'll definitely buy it. I don't have any of the Die Hards on Blu yet.

Hopefully, but it's not always the case.

That's actually a great-looking steelbook. Best Buy exclusive? I never did like that original DH art (Bruce Willis' face pressed up against the skyscraper).

Not a big fan of the movie, but I'll bite if the Blu-ray is indeed remastered.
