Default How many of you watch horror movies this time of the year (Jan-Feb)?

I love horror movies, but can't get interested in them this time of the year. If its a new release, like Sinister, then I'll watch but other than that I don't. I live in Wisconsin and theres snow on the ground still, maybe it gives me a "Christmas" vibe still and doesnt get me in the mood for horror movies. I enjoy watching horror movies in the summer and fall the most. I would guess most people would agree. What's your opinion on this?

I know what the OP is saying, I am the same way, but only with horror films. I can watch Christmas movies in March if they are good entertaining movies, but I never seem to have the urge to pop in a horror film until the fall comes around.

For me I don't think it is complicated, I think it is because horror is my least favorite genre. I can enjoy the films, but I have to be in the right mood, where as every other genre I am pretty much in the mood for at any given moment.

I watch what I watch, when I watch it. Never even gave a second thought to what time of year it was.

You mentioned the weather in the are you live, maybe it has something to do with it. It was 78 and sunny here a few days ago

I watch them all year round too. I usually watch more during October. However, last year I took part in the 31 days of Horror thing, and it totally burnt me out. For stuff I hadn't seen before it was alright, but for some of my favorites it felt like I was forcing myself to watch some things I just wasn't ready to rewatch. So this year I definitely won't be doing that.

All year round. Horror is my favorite genre. Different seasons and holidays may get me into certain subgenres more, like watching Friday the 13th in the summer is nice or watching Universal classics in the fall just feels right.

But yeah, all year round.

I watch them more frequently in August - October. I am the opposite with Holiday themed pictures though. I can watch Halloween, Christmas, etc. based movies all year long.

The Shining would be a good one to watch this time of the year if you live in the northern states. Good call.

I watch them all year round as well. It ramps up in the fall when cable companies start showing more but I'll watch them whenever I can

My two favorite genres are Sci-Fi and Horror and I can watch them both any time.

The Shining and The Thing are two of my favorites and are great choices for this time of year.

I watch horror movies all year long. I don't associate the genre with Halloween or a certain time of year when the weather is cold. Besides, Friday the 13th marathons during the summer time are awesome. The only movies I do limit are Christmas movies during the Holidays.

I might watch horror movies more frequently in the fall (especially movies like Halloween and its sequels, of course), but it doesn't really matter to me. If I feel like sitting down to watch any movie, I'm going to sit down and watch it. Even those Halloween movies .
