Default Howard the Duck

Since the official purpose of this area of our forum is "General discussion of movies and TV shows, not directly related to a Blu-ray release. Also discuss actors, actresses, directors etc.", I thought it would be ok.

Howard the Duck will be available on DVD March 10th. Since no one knows if and when it will ever be released on Blu-ray, I was curious as to who may be interested in it. This is one of those Love it or Hate it movies. I actually love it and plan to pick up a copy of it tomorrow.

I loved it when I was a kid but it's been a long time since I've seen it. I'd like to at least rent it on Blu but it's tough to say whether or not I would want to own a copy.

I think that was the first near sex scene I ever witnessed.

Thumbs up It's About Frikkin' Time!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid and I'm definetly grabbing it for my own! I can almost hear that theme song now: "Howard THE Duck! Da-da-dum-da-da-duh-duh!" Yeah, the rest is kinda hazy after the "Howard THE Duck" part. (Oh, gimme a break! I haven't seen it in over 20 years or so!)

"Pinnochio" and "Howard the Duck", 2 movies I once adored, coming out to own on the same day. Whodathunkit? This is actually kind of a weird coincidence because the wife just got me a Howard the Duck statue for no real reason! It was just a simple expression of her love. (I love you too, baby! )

Yeah, Howard is definately one of those love-hate movies. The critics totally destroyed the film when it came out and it pops up in many "worst movies" lists.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I watched it as a kid and I loved it. I thought Howard was witty and cool and I actually love the film score for some reason. I used to watch this movie all the time. I wonder if I would think the same thing if I had watched the film for the first time as an adult.

My experience is that the people who like the film watched it when they were young first. Me and my brother still quote the movie from time to time to this day. "Try the seatbelt Howard." lol

I didn't know this was coming out on dvd, I have been looking for this one for a while. I will definitely be picking this one up for sure. And you never know it might come out on blu one day, I have seen worse movies on bluray already.

Howard the Duck is a fantastic movie. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if it came out on Blu-ray.

Seems like there are lots of Howard fans out there. Maybe someday we will have this gem on Blu, but for now, I am quite pleased that it is finally going to be on DVD.

And yes, it does have a great score.

I love the movie, but I just don't know if I can buy a DVD anymore. Although, I just made an exception for the Dead Like Me movie, so maybe I can still do it.

It's certainly a guilty pleasure of mine. I'll be grabbing my copy tomorrow with Pinnochio.

While I would have loved a Blu-Ray release, I'll grab the DVD. Best way to ensure it comes to Blu-Ray sooner rather than never is to make sure it sells well on release day.

I love this movie. It's where Paul Guilfoyle (Capt. Brass from CSI) makes his film debut. Although the movie has been available on DVD in Europe for a couple of years now, I'm glad to see it finally get a US release, although it would have been nice to get a Blu-ray release as well. May have to pick it up if the price is right just so they might consider a BD release in the future, sometime.

Well, it's $9.99 at Best Buy. And it's not a simple barebones release. Well worth a purchase.

Loved it when I first saw it, now it's mostly just nostalgia but I haven't seen this movie in such a long long time.
