I figured that with NBC pushing all of their chips into this show I would give it a shot. I thought tonight was an ok start. I need to see it grow obivously but I'm not completely for or against it yet. Anyone else see it?

So, the premise is, they're making a bio stage musical of Marilyn Monroe?

Uh, hate to tell them this, BUT:

After thirty-four previews, the Broadway production...ran for only seventeen performances.

(I can't help it, I've always had this strange morbid interest in Broadway flops.)

I'm watching this because of Katharine McPhee. I've been a BIG fan of hers ever since she was on American Idol!

I watched the Pilot when it was free on itunes. Overall I really liked it, but some parts felt rushed. The 5 minute preview at the end looked interesting, although some plotlines looked a bit cliché
[Show spoiler](Ivy sleeping with the director).
There is definitely potential and I'll keep watching.

Pretty poor actually. For NBC standards, it didn't pretty good, but they were hoping for closing to 15 million.

Either way, the first half hour had 12 mill+ and dropped to 10 million for the 2nd half hour. VERY bad sign especially for a new show to drop 2 million viewers at the half hour break. This MIGHT last one season. Next episode will be under 10 million without a doubt. 3rd episode will probably be 7-8 million and the final episodes will be all in the 6-7 million range at best.

As I predicted, last night got barely over 8 million viewers and only a 2.8 in the demo. CASTLE on ABC beat it.

Next week I was predicting 7-8 million, but it has done even worse than I had though. Might only be 6-7.5 million now.

I'm unimpressed so far. It's very formulaic; Lifetime movie of the week and heading into soap territory (which I cannot stand)! Jack Davenport and Anjelica Huston are the only reasons I've stuck around giving it a chance, but otherwise it just seems like a soapbox to show off the other two leads' singing abilities. The way they intercut the practices with the on stage counterpart was cool at first but it seems like they're gonna do that all time, and that will become kinda like a lazy one trick pony.

"Smash" for me...it is not.

Yea, I think I'm done with the show as well. The assistant is an annoying prick. The "cheating" storyline will be predictable. Overall, the storyline hasn't grabbed me. I thought this show was going to be something special but it hasn't. Try again NBC.

This is the first show in hundreds that I've actually lost interest already in the pilot episode. The rest of the season is going to be about the two girls trying to win the role and a ton of underhanded crap by everyone.

ep 1 = 11.4 million viewers
ep 3 = 6.47 million viewers

I think the cancellation will come after episode 6

I have, it's OK. I can't believe Katherine Mcphee didn't have success as a solo artist, she sings the hell out of every song they've had her do so far on the show.
