I didn’t see any discussion on this and I was wondering peoples thoughts on Paramount’s decision to do away with a stand-alone Blu ray copy of their movies in favour of having to now buy a 4K combo pack if you just want a Blu ray. There’s probably 2 camps of those only buying Blu ray releases - one is those who have no interest in ever upgrading to 4K whether it’s because you’re perfectly happy with the format and/or the pricing of 4K is too expensive and the other camp of those who’d like to upgrade to 4K but haven’t yet bought a 4K TV and/or player. For the latter you may already buy 4K combos so you’re ready with discs if you switch to 4K, but for the former I’m thinking this decision by Paramount of forcing you to buy a 4K combo at the higher price when you only want the Blu ray might be causing some frustration or angst. Thoughts?
