"The Tudors" coming to UK BD 12/10? - Blu-ray Forum

Can anyone confirm whether or not Amazon.UK's entry for "The Tudors" stating release for Dec 10 is correct and/or give us any more details (i.e. is SPHE UK actually the distributor, is there region coding, what are the specs)?

Yes it's coming. Sony is the international distro

Awesome! Since it's not a movie, perhaps it'll be region free.

It's not a movie, but it still has broadcast schedules internationally. They have to clear that as much as possible before they can do it region free. Otherwise, it'd be region coded.

Have to say i am enjoying this show. Last episode of season one is on next week. I may pick this up on BD.

You sure? I was pretty sure Lionsgate announced it was coming to BD sometime in Q4.

That's not an announcement from Lionsgate, I just think some people assumed that they were both on Showtime, they would both be released by the same company. Unfortunately, while "Weeds" is a LGF production, "Tudors" is produced by Showtime, a Viacom company, which means it's a Paramount release in the US. It appears to be someone else (Sony?) in the UK, however.

EDIT: Here's the Amazon UK link, which states a release by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment UK. Yay! Now, is it region free?
