Default Classic PS2 HD Collections on PS3?

With classic games like Resident Evil 4, and then the upcoming ones like Silent Hill 2 and 3 along with several more; can we expect more and more such PS2 classics be re-released on the PS3?

I would LOVE to have GTA III, GTA: VC, GTA: SA to come to the PS3 one day.

awhile back one of the guys in charge of Soul Calibur V said they were discussing whether or not to bring the previous PS2/PS1 versions to the PSN/XBLA.

That would be great cause I LOVED Soul CAlibur III

I'd love to see the Onimusha series get an HD upgrade!

I think we will see some more, especially if the current re-released sell well which most of them are. Some of the games I would like to see and my guess of their chances are listed below.

Good chance of a re-release
1) Ratchet & Clank series
2) Onimusha series
3) Crash Bandicoot

Might be re-released

1) Pacman Worlds series
2) Fatal Frame series (this might be just wishful thinking on my part)
3) other ps2 Resident Evil games (But Please do HD version of 1,2,3)
4) Twisted Metal

Little Chance of re-release but I would love to see them

1) Doom 1 2 and Final Doom (I can't believe these were not put on the PSN, they have versions for every other system imaginable)
2) Manhunt 1 & 2
3) Maximo series
4) Rygar
5) R-Tyoe games
6) something along the lines of the Point Blank games or Rail Shooters that would use the move controller
7) ps1 Medal of honor games (I think we have a good chance that the originals will be free for PSN+ users at some time in the future)

Remember all the bad publicity these games got lol!

Didn't they blame this game for causing a rampaging teenager?

Lol, that's why there is almost 0 chance of a re-release. But I also remember how Doom was also blamed as a reason why some nutcase shot up a school and yet that game was released on everything (except ps2 & ps3) including phones!

ChrisV the first Maximo (Ghost to Glory) is available on the PSN. I hope they bring Army of Zin as well. Keep in mind these are straight ports and not HD.

Would be nice if they were redone with HD resolution and 60fps.. better yet all new high res textures but just having them to play is nice.

I want Maximo III.

I'd love to see SMT Digital Devil Saga 1&2 along with SMT Nocturne slapped on a Blu-ray with trophies.
Heck, they wouldn't even have to bother with an HD make over and I would still buy it day one
I might consider the other Shin Megami Tensei games like Persona too.

I know Maximo is on PSN, I bought it even though I still have the original PS2 disc, The game actually looks pretty good on my HD TV even on its original resolution. I still would like to see it get the HD treatment along with Army of Zin on the same disc. Price it at $20.00 and its a day one purchase for me.

Ok, I misread your post tehn. Yes, it still looks good and has its charm. Hell yeah I would pay extra for an HD version. Two of my favorite games from the PS2 era

I have just got the Splinter Cell trilogy, the Tomb Raider Trilogy and the (slightly buggy) Prince of Persia Trilogy, which I'm playing (and loving) at the moment. Really looking forward to the Silent Hill Collection, and hoping that they also release the other Silent Hills in the future, especially Shattered Memories. That would be great!

I expect to start on the MGS HD Collection this weekend. Hope it lives up to all the hype. Tomb Raider sounds very intriguing. The last Doom game I played was on the PS1. That franchise would get my attention too, and maybe some of the Star Wars stuff like Dark Forces. Though I don't remember if the later was ever made for consoles or just for PC.

Ok, this is an old news, but I only found out about it. It looks like BOTH GTA III and GTA: VC could come to the PS3, as parts of the GTA HD Collection, sooner than I ever imagined.
