Classic PS2 HD Collections on PS3?

I have just got the Splinter Cell trilogy, the Tomb Raider Trilogy and the (slightly buggy) Prince of Persia Trilogy, which I'm playing (and loving) at the moment. Really looking forward to the Silent Hill Collection, and hoping that they also release the other Silent Hills in the future, especially Shattered Memories. That would be great!

I expect to start on the MGS HD Collection this weekend. Hope it lives up to all the hype. Tomb Raider sounds very intriguing. The last Doom game I played was on the PS1. That franchise would get my attention too, and maybe some of the Star Wars stuff like Dark Forces. Though I don't remember if the later was ever made for consoles or just for PC.

Ok, this is an old news, but I only found out about it. It looks like BOTH GTA III and GTA: VC could come to the PS3, as parts of the GTA HD Collection, sooner than I ever imagined.

So why hasn't the ESRB rated San Andreas? Perhaps Rockstar isn't planning on selling a disc-based HD collection at all, and is instead dishing out the games digitally over the PlayStation Network with plans of releasing the final entry later.

That can mean 1 of 2 things, PSN Store non-HD downloads, or as a HD collection with only 2 of the GTA games. I doube it will be like Resident Evil where only Japan got a disc HD collection release of those Resident Evil games.

I get this disappointing feeling that it will just be a re-release of the PS2 versions.

For some this may be good enough, but lack of trophy support and being forced to use the old control scheme would suck.

If done right, all the early Medal of Honor games would be splendid in HD.

Also, it wouldn't hurt if they re-did Call of Duty: Finest Hour as I find this on PS2 very slow in player movement.
