So, I have had my copy of The Condemned on Blu Ray basically since it came out. I wanted to watch it the other day and none of my Blu Ray players even recognized it as a disc. I ended up buying a new copy, and the new copy isn't even recognized as a disc. All of my other Blu Rays play perfectly fine though. Can anyone explain this to me and tell me what I can do to fix this problem? It is seriously pissing me off to no end.

Try turning off the players internet connection and re-playing the disc. If that doesn't help then this thread is for you...
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=249210 Early Lionsgate discs from a certain manufacturing facility are all destined to fail. The Condemned is one of those discs. If it's not the internet connection issue causing things to stall and fail to load then it's disc rot and all you can do is replace the disc with another new copy hoping it came from a different place of manufacture. |

Neo_reloaded is the one spearheading the process of identifying the bad discs. He can tell you the IFPI number on the clear center hub of the discs that have or will go bad with time. It's been posted a lot here recently so check the thread I linked to above over the last few pages and it may have that info. That way you can prepare yourself for the inevitable or rest easy.

What is the mould IFPI number on the defective discs? It will be in the form "IFPI ****", with 4 or 5 digits after the IFPI part. It's in the clear plastic at the very center of the disc and may require a magnifying glass depending on your eyesight/lighting.

The copy I had was the dual pack that also came with War, starring Jet Li and Jason Statham. My copy of War still works perfectly. I tried buying a brand new copy of just The Condemned. Didn't work on any blu ray players. They can't all be messed up, can they?
