I see Walmart is now carrying 120Hz VIZIO displays that properly handle 1080P/24 signals like a film projector when Smooth Mode Effect is turned off. A VIZIO SV420M 42 inch 1080P 120HZ LCD model can be purchased for only $847 at Walmart now. A better picture quality can be found on more expensive brands but it is amazing that VIZIO within a few years has become known as a low cost value priced display. VIZIO sells more flat screens compared to any other company since many consumers like the low price compared to other brands.

I just noticed that Walmart is now carrying the Samsung LN40B630 1080P 120HZ LCD that is 40 inches in size for only $899. The Samsung most likely when compared next to the VIZIO side by side would have a little deeper blacks and better ANSI contrast ratio.
http://www.walmart.com/Samsung-40-Lcd-Hdtv-ln40b630/ip/11970014 It's good to see Walmart start to finally get 5:5 pulldown 120HZ models of LCD screens in for consumers to choose from. It use to be Walmart only carried 60HZ 3:2 pulldown models of 1080P displays. Last edited by HDTV1080P; 09-10-2009 at 10:55 PM. |

I would definite pick samsung over vizio with little bit more, samsung tv can had better black with few adjustment while vizio even with a lot of adjustment black level won't get much better. Biggest problem with vizio is most device don't had codes for them. Could be cause of Jap or Korean brand don't wanted to include U.S. company in their list.

Meh. Amazon has it for the same price, with free shipping...I'd sooner buy it from Amazon than Wally World. The tax savings is a bonus. Last edited by xneox; 09-10-2009 at 11:29 PM. |

I'd rather pick up a 42" S1 plasma for a substantially better price.
Better blacks, viewing angle, contrast ratio and 1080/1080 (NeoPDP) motion resolution are more important to me than 24Hz. $749 shipped - http://www.buydig.com/shop/basket.aspx?sku=PNTCP42S1 Last edited by dobyblue; 09-11-2009 at 01:40 PM. |
