The Alien Anthology is one of the most comprehensive sets there is.

ABSOLUTELY agree with both of these. In fact, they're almost necessary.

For some newer films that I very much liked (don't know what you're tastes are, though), there's Arrival, Ex Machina, Under the Skin, The Martian.

PROMETHEUS 3D BD. Special features again from Charles de Lauzirika, who also put together the bonus for ALIEN Anthology and BLADE RUNNER.
KING KONG (2005): Ultimate Edition (EVERY single bonus feature from the DVDs. More Adventure compared to Science Fiction though.), THE MARTIAN: Extended Edition, LIFEFORCE (I own the ARROW release on purpose), BRAZIL, TIME BANDITS (Arrow I know more about), 12 Monkeys, PLANET OF THE APES (Both the OG 5 films and newest. The 2001 Tim Burton film leaves off a lot of the features from the DVD), and there's way more.
I DO NOT recommend AVATAR cause it's Dances with Wolves/The Last Samurai/A Man Called Horse IN SPACE.

Even if 2001: A Space Odyssey had no bonus features, it should still be the first one you get if you have a home cinema set up.

Even if you don't follow Star Trek, this one is a good buy. Everything you really need to know about Khan is explained in the movie, it has really nothing to do with the first film, and anything you would need to know about the friendship between Kirk and Spock has already been covered in popular media.

Yeah, I'm guilty that I didn't mention it. But I think maybe that is because of my Stanley Kubrick Collection, and not an individual disc I have.

[Show spoiler]That's the excuse I'm going with, anyways.

Best Buy is currently selling the 3 pack for the same price as Clockwork Orange, and for cheaper than The Shining. Anybody out there, if you're not concerned with extras and want one of these movies...

"The Signal" is a low budget but incredibly trippy film with a mind-blowing ending.
