So I’m not sure if your memory is like mine but I catch myself at the store and I’m holding onto a blu ray and can’t remember if I had previously bought it or what format I had bought it on. Well I’ve been using this app for 6-8 months and absolutely love it. You just use the camera phone to read the UPC on the back of the blu ray and it automatically puts it into your library with the cover art and identifies the format and everything! I wish I had thought about this app years ago, and no I don’t know who created it and I don’t get any money from it. I just love the app and it helps me tremendously and I think it’ll help you.
Take a look at my iPhone screenshots ![]() ![]() |

I just use the Blu-ray.com app, which syncs with my collection here on the site. I don't know if it's the "best", but it's convenient and it's free, and it allows me to view my collection in various ways (movies only, 3-D titles only, 4K only, everything, by studio, genre, disc count, etc).

My Movies Pro is indeed a nice app. It lets you add obscure titles, scan barcodes in bulk, and customize how the titles are displayed. I just wish it synced up with blu-ray.com

I used to use DVD Profiler and My Movies Pro for a bit. However, once I added my collection here I stopped using those apps. Now if I need to see if I own a title or not, I’ll just bring up the site and look there. I may give the bluray.com app a try though.

I've been pondering doing that too for a few months now for the exact same reason. I still haven't found one I like enough to replace it yet though so in the mean time I still use it with mental notes of what is missing.

Alright I'll pass on that. Glad it's working for others and free is awesome, but in my personal experiences it seems as though I have no signal in Target and Best Buy when I need it. I wish the Blu Ray app saved your collection right to the phone and synced to the website like iCloud.

I didn't even realise this place had an app. I've never bothered as I have my own database I built - which tracks home-recorded NBL games and such as well - but with the barcode scanning it's a breeze. Just added most of my collection now.

Is it just me, or is the My Movies Pro app far better for DVDs?
The Blu-ray.com app is OK for scanning Blu-rays. But it has a real problem with DVDs - very few of the ones I own can be scanned in, requiring me to submit their barcodes. And the process of submitting updates to Blu-ray.com seems very cumbersome - it can't be done from the app, and requires editing a title and working out whether you have just a new barcode of an existing release, or a whole new release. The My Movies Pro app scans nearly everything, on the first go. And if you come across a title whose barcode isn't in the system, you can quickly take cover photos direct from the app and submit your copy. Within 24hrs, the My Movies Pro staff will add your barcode (and proper cover images) if they can verify your copy is a legit release. After that, you can scan it in. I would love to have all my DVD titles in my Blu-ray.com collection. But at this point, it seems like a lot of effort. And I can't export from My Movies Pro, to Blu-ray.com either. My Movies Pro allows the export of an XML file. But this can't be imported to Blu-ray.com I also tried DVD Profiler years ago, but found it inferior to My Movies Pro. I first encountered this whole conundrum about 2 years ago. And nothing has changed in that time, in terms of being able to import a large DVD collection to Blu-ray.com How does everyone import large DVD collections into Blu-ray.com? Just with lots of patience? ![]() |
