Default Just doing my part

I was at Best Buy today and this couple was looking at the hd dvd movies and blu-ray movies. They seemed confused and I couldn't help but jump in. I asked them if they have an HD TV. They said yes and that they wanted to get an hd dvd player to take advantage of new hd or blu-ray movies. (Apparently they didn't have any discussion with a sales person?)... anyway, I explained the format war to them and studio support etc... and how they'd have to choose one format. I also told them how they could get an hd dvd player from Toshiba or a Blu-ray player from Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sharp ... I mentioned PS3 and the woman almost had an orgasm... she started freaking out saying how they were gonna buy their son a PS3 for Christmas and that if it plays Blu-ray movies, they wouldn't have to buy a separate player. I told them how MANY people buy the PS3 more as a player than a game machine a lot of the time and I told them to check out blu-ray.com (of course)... I explained the bluetooth to them and how they couldn't use a universal remote but how they could buy a sony bluetooth remote and they thanked me for my input and grabbed a few blu-ray movies, said they will definitely support the Blu-ray format and headed to checkout!!!

I wonder if they'll be able to wait till X-mas to check out a movie! Hopefully their son gets to play a game once in awhile too! ha ha

The beautiful thing is that I didn't bash hd dvd, I simply gave them facts about both formats and they made a choice based on those facts. I admit I went out into the parking lot with a little bounce in my step, having helped keep a nice couple from buying a future doorstop. (hd dud player)

+1 to you jedisinclair. That's how you sell a product. No need to bash, just the facts. ^^b
