Angry Damnit! 90K A2's sold over the weekend

They may not have sold in middle earth but they still managed to sell 90k in 3 days

http://www.videobusiness.com/article/CA6498141.html

It's a good thing these POS's don't come with a bundled free movie...

I'd like to see numbers from Sony as to how many PS3's sold over the weekend (399$ PS3 with Spidey3 bundle available since Friday).

Damnit! 90 000 more HD DUD trolls to deal with

If they are still at $98 and can't sell beyond the "3 day only" sale, then I will be ecstatic!!!

I guess we'll see.

They are so price sensitive we know they won't be spending their time buying and watching movie discs.

I believe that Montana is a state with anti-dumping laws.

what are you guys worrying about? about 3/4 of those who purchased that gar will be returning it once they find out that major titles aren't available on HD-DVD. People go to the store looking for Spiderman on HD-DVD then they'll know the mistake they just made.

So they are still there @ $98? Well they will have to reduce the price again. Let's say $48.
I am surprised they haven't put sale numbers @ half a million yet.

I hate to break it to you, but the Salina, KS and Pittsburg, KS stores were wiped out by Friday afternoon. People see "HD" and "98.88" and it's an impulse buy.

I'd like to know who the sources are claiming "90,000" sold and which retailers they are "close to"?

No, people see "HD" and $59 and it's an impulse buy, because that's how cheap you can get an upconverting DVD player for.

There are several "HD" players for less than $98 from Samsung, Sony, Philips, etc.

Quote:
In fact, the 90,000 figure for HD-A2 sales could be even higher, as it doesn’t appear to include all retailer information. The figure does span consumer activity on HD-A2s at Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Circuit City, among others.
