This is a cool page that shows the differance in quality when comparing the superbit DVD of Spider-Man to the blu-ray of Spider-Man

Even superbit dvd is only 480p. A whole lot different from 1080p. Even 720p.

Yes, we know that.

But given the constant influx of red ants to this site claiming Blu-ray is no better than upconverted DVDs, it's good to have these screenshots every now and then so we can point them to actual proof.

Exactly.

I never believe anyone who posts that an upconverted DVD is just as good as a hi-def image....it's just simply not true.

and to think I was not going to update some of my fav SUPERBITS with Blu's ... needless to say I have changed my mind!

Are the DVD images upconverted?

BTW: Evil Dead 2 looks horrible, only Blu-ray I have come across that looks worse than it's DVD counterpart.

Not exactly, DVD is only 480i or 576i, though the better ones can de-interlace effectively.
