Region change with firmware update? - Blu-ray Forum

In the BDP1400 thread, The Bear mentioned something about using a US firmware update on the UK Samsung BDP1000 player that effectively changed the player's region coding from B to A.

This is the first time I heard of this even being possible.

Are there any other players and firmware updates that do this? Information like this could be very useful to many of us international forum members, I suppose.

If there are firmware updates of that kind, I would love to get one to change one of my BD-players from Region A to B!
