Odd title for a Bronson action flick. Had to watch the trailer to make sure it wasn't a French arthouse film lol. Looks like a day one purchase now

pretty cool announcement! Big Bronson fan and this is one in a handful of flicks that I've never had the opportunity to see.

This will proudly sit in my KINO collection section of my office (alongside Mister Majestyk, Breakheart Pass, and The White Buffalo)

Keep them coming Kino!!!! Borderline and Love And Bullets would take another 2 off that handful of movies!

This is definitely not your typical Bronson flick. I wouldn't call it an action film at all, it's more of a mystery. It's also easily one of the best films in his career. Personally I'd only rate Once Upon a Time in the West above it. Bronson himself frequently cited it as a favorite, he gets to do something different here.

Great news! This is my favorite Bronson along with Once Upon a Time in the West. As is mentioned above, Bronson often stated that he though this was one of his best films.

You didn´t see this movie yet?

Although I've been aware of RIDER ON THE RAIN, I've never had the opportunity to see it. Now I do. Love Bronson!

If this isn't a selling point, nothing is I'm game for non-traditional Bronson. Still an odd title, though.

As mentioned, this release needs to have both English and French versions.

The Japanese bd with the French version remains one of the most expensive single titles I've purchased.

I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere, but it's more than relevant - what's different about the French version? Obviously the language, dialogue, Bronson is dubbed by someone else and it runs slightly longer. From my understanding it's basically the same film otherwise. I imagine there are some different takes being used. Anything else to note regarding the French version?

It's different takes edited slightly differently, hence the runtime discrepancies. There's no extra scenes in either version.

I like both versions. English one for Bronson's original voice, and the French version which has the French cast speaking in their native language.
When I watch the English version I love it for Bronson's voice, but am put off by the other French stars being dubbed. Hence, I hope this has both versions.

Asides from that, they filmed it twice for the above reasons, so a proper edition needs to have both versions.

(1970) Color 114 | 118 Minutes 1.78:1 | 1.85:1 Rated PG-13
From René Clément, the legendary director of Forbidden Games, Purple Noon, The Deadly Trap and And Hope to Die comes this stylish thriller starring screen legend Charles Bronson (Cold Sweat, Mr. Majestyk). When a beautiful young woman (Marlène Jobert, We Won’t Grow Old Together) in the South of France is stalked and then assaulted by a mysterious masked assailant, she kills the man in self-defense, and in a moment of misjudgment, she dumps his corpse over a cliff into the sea instead of calling the police. Trying to return to her life before the attack, her world is turned upside down when an American investigator (Bronson) shows up and, to her horror, seems to know everything about what she has done. Rider on the Rain showcases fine performances both from Bronson, whose mix of sympathy and aggression perfectly defines his character, and Jobert, who gains audience empathy with her touch of sexuality mixed with an innate, almost childlike innocence. Featuring a haunting and beautiful score by Francis Lai (Love Story) with wonderful supporting performances by Gabriele Tinti (Cannon for Cordoba) and Jill Ireland (Breakheart Pass). This special edition includes both the 114-minute U.S. cut and the 118-minute French cut. [/FONT]

Wow. I have the BRONSON AT HIS BRUTAL BEST original poster in my living room. Never thought in a million years they'd use that for a blu-ray cover.

Great. I have heard so much from this film. I look foward to see the original French cut. I assume it will have English audio.
