1080p with a good refresh rate, lcd or dlp not plasma you can get burn in and can't replace bulb. I have the old sxrd that has only 1 hdmi and 1080i w/speakers on the side. The new model looks sweet since they got rid of the side speakers, has 2 hdmi inputs, and is 1080p not i.

Default Look at the SONY SXRD 1080p HDTV's

You'll be hard pressed to find anything better than the SONY SXRD HDTV's and SXRD 1080p Front Projectors. When actually looking at TV's, make sure you see the SXRD Logo on the bottom right of the TV, just below the screen. This will ensure you looking at the 1080P unit, with Two 1080p HDMI Inputs on the rear (One for Cable or satellite - One for your Blu-Ray) There will be many other set manufacturers showing a 1080p version next month at a show for the A/V Industry called CEDIA in Denver, CO September 14th. through the 17th. You might want to wait and see what's coming to stores by the Thanksgiving/Christman Holiday !!! Once you narrow the field down, make sure you ask for a Demo using a Blu-Ray DVD Player with your 1080p HDTV of choice. That will be the absolute deciding factor. Then make the purchase and enjoy the best in home video entertainment.

but the experience? OMG

i demoed the sony ruby projector when i was looking for new HT equipment (thankfully didn't purchase since im broke now... be in a serious hole otherwise). the picture was stunning to say the least. was using rotel and anthem equipment, all overrated monster cabling, and the projector (lets not get into the speakers). we'll just say i was amazed. i think the projector "only" did 1080i, but i could very well be wrong.

Even a lot of the BD and Sony bashers on AVS have to give Sony the righteous props for some of their display hardware and technology, especially gems like these.

Which SXRD do you have with only one HDMI? All of the SXRDs I've ever seen had two HDMI inputs.

For some reason I thought it was an sxrd

It isn't, but that's pretty compelling, especially at that lowest end price.

That TV has 2 HDMI inputs, unless they have changed it since February. My Dad has that TV and I hooked it up for him using one HDMI for his cable box and another for his DVD player. The display at work also has two inputs on it. If I remember correctly they are labeled Video 5 and Video 6.

Bestbuy.com isn't the most reliable source in the world.
