Default Massive Blu-ray Campaign in Japan

One of my friends in Japan recently spoke to me about the latest advertisement campaign in Japan. He says that Advertising on both TV and visual ads around the country are 5:1 of HD-DVD. He also notes that HD-DVDs are almost nowhere to be found in Japan. Even in Akihabara, Japan's electric town. He says Blu-ray is being advertised "too" often by both Sharp and Sony. He says Japan's decision is made, and there is no fight left here (in Japan) for HD-DVD.

Sounds like Europe is next.

The reason I think America is so bad is because we have "proud" activists on both formats. When you combine the sheer politics Americans on the internet love so much, with a format war. What you end up with is a populous of confused consumers, who are just as confused about a digital disc as they are about the war in the middle east. Honestly I think this format war's greatest enemy are the news websites lol.

However unlike politics which will continue till the end of time. Something has to give in the format war, because many companies are not making big money until a final format is decided. This so called stand-off won't last much longer.
