Talking Bones season 5 announced for Blu-ray

Awesome news I was worried Fox would only give us season 4 on blu and season 5 on DVD only. Just started watching this wonderful show and am almost done with season 2.

Fantastic news this is one of my favorite shows on TV right now only behind Castle, NCIS, and Fringe.

Yeah this show needs too be started from season 1 because of the relationships between everyone and how they develop.

Really? I need to start from Season 1?? I was reading Blu-ray.com's review. Here is what the concluding paragraph says...

Quote:
Don't be frightened away by the "Season Four" in Bones: Season Four. Even if you've never seen a single episode, the show is so accessible that newcomers will be able to enjoy Booth and Brennan's cases as readily as series regulars.

Well if you look at it as a show that all you want is to see cases get solved then sure starting at season 4 is fine but you will miss many great interactions with the characters. I look at it as more than a cop show because they go into the personal lives of all the main characters unlike say CSI where its all about the case. Worst of all starting at season 4 you get to see none of Zack and Hodgins king of the lab battles.

Yes, you can start at season 4 but if you do it that way, some of the impact of the previous seasons will be reduced. Its a fine fine show with great chemistry from the 2 lead roles. Also very funny but serious at. Highly addictive. Oh a great soundtrack too!

I think that the show lost a lot after Zack's departure. He's just a really good character.

I know i just wish they would pick a permanent replacement already. I am getting tired of the revolving door of interns.

I watched an episode of this show back in December and became instantly hooked on it. I now try to catch the nightly 3 episodes that are shown on TNT, plus the Saturday ones on WGN also.

Great show.

I think they learned that Zack was harder to replace than they thought... and the variety of interns allows them to "replace" him without actually replacing him... and they aren't stuck with a single character that people get tired of seeing every week.

It also gives them flexibility in writing the plot as they can tailor the plot to different interns and do a story with one that they couldn't do as well with another.

I started watching this show a couple weeks ago and I love it. I like how it's not so serious like those other crime shows. I'm still on season 1, but I'll probably catch up by summer and get this.

Nice! Glad to see it will be on blu. It's one of the better seasons. The episode with Robert E. was awesome.

New episode in less then twenty minutes too!

I'm getting annoyed that the studios aren't releasing earlier seasons at all. I could see if they took some time to get them out but seriously... would it be so hard to toss Season 1 out along with Season 5? Then get season 2 out by season 6?

I won't buy a series where only 1-2 seasons are in HD. It makes no sense to me. They have to think that a good deal of BD enthusiasts are hesitant to purchase these later seasons stand-alone...

It's a shame.

My thoughts exactly! I own Bones season 4 but haven't even started watching it, as I want to start from season 1, on Blu-ray. I don't want to start watching it on TV reruns nor do I want to put out money to get it on DVD. It's really mindboggling how studios don't realize they're shooting themselves in the foot by doing this. It certainly hampers sales not to have the first seasons of a series out. Sure, some people will just shrug and get them on DVD, but I know plenty who just not buy it until it's out on Blu-ray.

I feel the same way I hate having only some seasons on Blu-ray and not others. But I also think it's the fans fault and the studios. I mean they release the brand new season on Blu-ray and no one buy's it because it's out of order and the studios won't release the earlier seasons as sales were bad for the brand new one. So fans should still support the seasons on Blu-ray so we get earlier seasons.
