Question Does component cable support macrovision?

I recall reading someplace that component cable (red, blue, green) does NOT support macrovision copy protection. If this is true, that explains why we only see component output and never see a recording device with a component input.

Can anyone confirm or point me to a web site with the info? Thanks.

Component supports macrovision up to and including 480p. I'm not sure if they've added 720p and 1080i to it yet.
