Default Good article criticizing HD DVD PRG FUD

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/11...les_challenge/

"But if the European HD DVD Promotional Group really is confident its format will be successful, it should have the courage to come clean on the numbers. That it doesn't, speaks volumes."

Wow, that site normally comes across as quite pro-HD DVD to me, perhaps they're finally seeing the light!

I'm glad to see that more and more people are publicly calling out HD DVD about their spin doctoring.

Excellent piece calling out the HD DVD promotional group for what they are, FUDsters. You just know that there is no way in hell they can back up their BS with meaningful data.

"These attach-rate figures, however, are almost certain to include the PS3, thus making HD DVD look better, but making it appear Blu-ray discs aren't selling. Nothing could be further from the truth, because Blu-ray is still outselling HD DVD in terms of number of discs shipped."

"Another week, another unsubstantiated series of boasts from HD format makers."

Last night I asked in another thread. "Are we witnessing the death of HD DVD"
Another sign is when your own backers begin to question you publicly.

I think we will start to see the shift in late January to February. With the price drop and specials on the PS3, movies sales will pick up even more steam after Christmas. They can talk attach rate all they want, but studios want their movies off the shelves... lets see.

Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part, but I see a new enthusiasm for Blu-ray that I haven't seen since the formats launch. Maybe it started with the HD-DVD player firesale, but HD-DVD's actions are now clearly desparate.

I said before, that I hoped Blu-ray would be more aggressive. I still do. Being aggressive in the way that HD-DVD is acting would be more alarming. A drastic cut in player prices, press releases stating BS attach rates, does not show a format that is all to sure of itself.
