I guess there wasn't a thread for the Blu-ray. So anyway, the Target edition with the little booklet is not so hot. The booklet is just wrapped onto the back of the standard slipcase. Doesn't fit inside. Looks like I will return this mess.

I've been skipping most UHD editions of newer theatrical films in favor of the "regular" Blu-ray versions but I'm definitely going to grab the 4K. Tarantino's films are always visually interesting. Sun-splashed vintage LA should translate nicely in 4K.

I'm going to pick this one up and was wondering why no one had started a thread in the blu-ray section yet. Seems like the majority who still buy new releases around here are all in on UHD. I'm pretty excited to see all the deleted material on this one.

I still don't have a 4k player or TV, but I'm getting the 4k set after work today instead of the regular blu! I like the cover better and I figure this is one I'm going to want to watch whenever I do upgrade.

I just did the same thing because I like the cover art better on the UHD even though I haven't upgraded yet either. The blu ray basically has 2 cover arts (one on the front and the UHD artwork on the reverse side) but I just like it better on the UHD.

Yeah, I totally want this on my collection as it's my favorite movie of the year so far, but I'm not sure whether I should shell out for the BD or the UHD (for future-proofing; I'm not 4K-capable yet).

This one also has the benefit of having been actually shot on film so the 4K should look glorious.

I'd love a 4K release of The Hateful Eight as well, seeing as how that one was shot on 70mm.

Hell, I want all his films in 4K who am I kidding?

Eyeing that 4k gift set, also the cover art looks much better on the 4k!

Best Buy completely bungled the steelbook release of this...rather than go with the no-brainer grandslam of the UHD poster art, they give us something that looks less appealing than Brandy's dog food. The regular edition reflects a dearth of chromosomes as well.

The UHD cover art is really the only option to go with here, so I'll likely go that route (despite not upgrading) once the price drops.

My feeling is that by the time I get around to being UHD-capable, the prices on titles like this will have dropped enough that I don't mind double dipping.

I was hoping to wowed by the steelbook in person, but it looked just as ugly as the pictures. Serious WTF cover there. Had to go standard UHD, 7 bucks cheaper and so much better. The It: Chapter 2 steelbook is awesome though!

I found the Steelbook art really disappointing considering the amount of great art associated with the film.

I ended up going with the Walmart Exclusive BD as the 5 postcards with poster art will make a nice framed set. I figure that a better 4K Steelbook will come around in a few years and I'll grab that then. I do wish Walmart had done a 4K with the Postcards though.

I've never seen the film (I was going to see it at the cinema, but somehow it didn't happen), I have the Blu-ray now & am looking forward to watching it after Christmas. The funny thing is that I haven't seen any Blu-ray reviews yet.

I watched the Blu-ray release about a week ago, my first time seeing the movie. I know my opinion isn't going to be popular with most here but I thought this was a bloated, self indulgent film that could have told the story in half the running time. Don't get me wrong, there *are* things to like about this film, casting and acting is great as usual for any Tarantino film, there's plenty of little details that continue to reveal and reward with repeated viewings, but it's a long slog to get to the controversial pay-off.

And Hollywood in the Summertime doesn't look like Mars. Even in the 60's.

Well, the Blu-ray does have better audio so that makes it the winner for me. 24 bit vs 16 bit on the UHD.

This makes about as much sense as the steelbook cover. At least the 4K's come with the BD too, all ready to mux.

Amazon is a bit late getting this. I've just been charged today, and my ETA is Thursday. I've ordered the Blu-ray/DVD set.

I like most of the film, other than the fairy tale ending. Looking forward to viewing the 20 minutes of outtakes.

Funny how that guy in the video does not know what a 45 adapter is or what it is used for. Maybe he has never seen a vinyl-table (probably what he would call it). And why didn't he pull out the "vinyl" from the sleeve. Maybe he wasn't aware of that functionality. Yea, you slide the sleeve into the vinyl-table and it plays some music. He doesn't mention what the music is either. Paul Revere & The Raiders Good Thing is one of the sides. And it is blue vinyl. Maybe styrene. So Sony gives him all that stuff for free. To use his favorite word: cool.
