The Bitter BD-R of Sony Pictures. An Indicator Stanwyck set would be a dream.

It's kind of amusing to see the same studio do polar opposite releases for the same director. Several other (better known) Capra films get the premium package (Digibook) treatment, while this lesser known one is relegated to a BD-R.

Sony, Really? I want this. Not sure if I'll support this release though.

I paid $14.65 for the BD-R of Vampire Bat. I'm not paying any more than that (and the Film Detective disc had a commentary at least, I'm assuming this is bare-bones?).

Yeah, if these were $15 or less I may bite on a couple. But $27? Forget about it.

Sony, you bastards!! I'd have been all over this if it had been a legit blu-ray.

I regard this as Capra's best film; it's insulting that Sony have relegated it to BD-R. Hopefully Indicator give it the treatment it deserves.

I've sent them a message as well! I've suggested it to them before, it's been one of my most wanted Sony upgrades for a while. Certainly my most wanted Capra; it deserves the same kind of treatment that's been afforded to those already released by Sony and Criterion.

I can't figure these studios out.

License out their biggest Golden Age titles, but this title gets such the shaft... I would imagine Criterion or Twilight Time would want it. Columbia is probably asking to much.

For as much flack as Twilight Time gets for their $29.99 price and limited model, at least they aren't BD-R.

Hopefully people avoid these like the plague as I do.

First of all why not replicate the entire TCM early years set, and second why so darned expensive and lastly it could have been a limited release instead of BD-R.

I really don't feel like this title would have sold significantly less than what many of the Capra Digibooks are selling at. I mean, it's very much the same population of people buying those that would have been buying this too, myself included. At the very least, it should be a pressed disc.

You know, the Early Years set looks really great for a dvd. I think I'm good.

Agree, and if they were concerned with it's individual sales, they could have bundled it as a cheap "Early Years" Capra set as suggested above - assuming they have good enough masters. But even if they didn't have them all ready, then just break it up into double featuers. Hell, give them to Mill Creek.

Hm.

Capra.

I would have considered buying it if not for BD-R.

And I'm not even refusing to buy because it's a burned disc, it's because the price is outrageous for a burned disc.
