Default Suspending disbelief

How have things like commentary tracks, behind-the-scenes supplements, and online movie discussion groups affected your perspective while watching movies? Can you keep an "in the zone" focus without nitpicking plot holes or drifting out of the box to think about the off-camera production?

I've been thinking about this lately and it still surprises me when I see a bunch of people, for example, react in terror while watching a horror flick at the theater. After seeing so many movies and production supplements, it's like my brain goes into autopilot at times and I'll think about stupid things like, "there's probably a camera operator whizzing by on a moving dolly following the axe murderer" or "total rip-off of <x movie>." I also tend to sit and think about where I've heard the voice actors before while watching animated material.

A few icons like Spielberg and Lynch don't like adding annotations to their movies as it'd essentially "spoil the magic." Does it spoil or enhance the experience for you?
