Saw A Man Called Otto and it was good. If you have seen the trailer, or know how these films work, then you know exactly what you are going to get. It's a fun flick but nothing more than that. I am going to see Plane and I might go see House Party. I am off for the rest of the month so I decided that I was going to use every reservation that AMC gives you with their A-List.

My theatre is getting

- A Man Called Otto (should've got it last week like the rest of America smh)

- Plane

- The Whale (An entire month after it expanded to 600 theatres back in mid-December. I don't care anymore it's probably going to be on digital any day now anyway)

- Jurassic Park (part of Flashback Cinema. Those older movies are always put on the smallest screens though so not worth it.)

- The Price We Pay (my theatre ALWAYS gets these straight to digital Lionsgate movies for some reason? like we can get these but not big movies that have been in 600 theatres for weeks?)

- The Devil Conspiracy

House Party isn't listed for this weekend despite being in their "coming soon" section on the website (no longer there) and I just saw a giant 7'ish foot poster for it inside the theatre hallway last night.

If Avatar has a similarly low drop, it'll make $25M-$30M this coming weekend, which is more than enough to keep #1. Not even sure if any of the new releases will beat M3gan for 2nd place.

FYI: House Party is being released in around only 1,000 theaters and review embargo is not dropping until day of release

Universal putting The Fabelmans on digital weeks before awards season kicked off seems amazingly daffy, unless their intent is to use it to push subs on Peacock. At a price tag of $40 million, it's chump change for a streamer. That was probably the Craft Service budget on Netflix's The Grey Man.

Anyway, Deadline is forecasting $35 million for Way of Water this weekend. Probably won't be dethroned until Ant-Man 3 on 2/17.

Oof, well it was supposed to go straight to HBO Max after all.

Ant-Man is out a week before Cocaine Bear, but yeah I can definitely see Avatar keeping #1 at least for the rest of January.

If nothing dethrones Avatar until Quantumania then Disney will have held the top position at the box-office charts for an astonishing 4 months

Remember when this was supposedly saved from going straight to HBOMax because it was decided it was theatre quality? What the actual **** happened with this film?
