Thumbs down Wal Mart Only Sold 30,000 HD DUD Players?

According to Home Media Magazine, http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/ques...1807/index.php Page 28 - Cover3 (Panel: Format War Helps Online), Wal Mart only sold 30,000 HD DUD players on the firesale day, not the 90,000 that were announced earlier. Hm... I smell number fudging

While I'm sure some people got Circuit City and Best Buy to price-match, I doubt it was 60,000 players anyway...

Was the 90k for just Wal*Mart, or all the stores? Wal*Mart was the major retailer that sale, I'd assume most sales were through them, but I know a lot of people just ordered from Best Buy's website that weekend.

I'd like to know how they got the sales figures for walmart as well if they can't get them for the overall ratings of discs.

sounds like more BS from the HD DVD camp just like the transformers numbers. It should be illegal to lie about sales numbers they keep doing it to fool people that they are selling great it pisses me off

WickyWoo, every time I see your name I think of the song 2Wicky by Hooverphonic.

About the 30,000 number. Maybe that was actually the amount of players that were returned to Walmart after the new owners borked their updates.
