"The Toolbox Murders" (the 1977 original of course, coming to blu ray in Jan. 2010 from Blue Underground) A great "hammer" horror film!

Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter
The Curse of the Werewolf

Might have to pick up "Captain Kronos-Vampire Hunter", my local grocery store has it for 5.99 on DVD, not even sure if it will make it to blu?! John Carson kinda reminds me of Christopher Lee!

Thanks for helping me pick out my typo!!

I'd love to think that the Hammer (and Amicus) catalogues would be given a run out on BD, but I can't see them releasing some of the lesser known titles, at least not for a while. I do think we will see the Dracula titles before too long though.

Pick up Kronos, you know you need to!

Other great Hammer horror films: The Reptile, The Witches, Rasputin The Mad Monk, The Mummy's Shroud, Plague of the Zombies, The Abominable Snowman, Four Sided Triangle, X The Unknown, and The Devils Rides Out. Plus any of the Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing Hammer films!

Vampire Circus is great, and still isn't available in the US, even on DVD.

I love pretty much all Hammer horror, but more favorites are The Devil Rides Out, Curse of The Werewolf, Frankenstein Created Woman, To The Devil A Daughter, and Captain Kronos.

The big problem is that so many studios own the movies. It gets confusing with the rights issues.

Is Vampire Circus the film that had Roderick Shaw in it, the actor who played Kevin on The Adventures of Black Beauty?

HORROR OF DRACULA
BRIDES OF DRACULA
CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF
DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE
DRACULA, PRINCE OF DARKNESS
CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN
PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES

..........so many good ones-- don't really have a favorite.... what I wouldn't give just to see one of these released on blu-ray..... sigh.

and to the comments a few posts back as far as different studios--
there are several but UNIVERSAL owns the rights to many of them, others
are currently owned by MGM (now FOX as far as video rights go) so at least some of them could be released in the hopefully near future

Picked up Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter on DVD for $5.99 brand new at my local Giant Food grocery store ,and was at Target and saw a Dracula 4 film DVD collection from Warner Bros., It has The Horror of Dracula, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, Taste The Blood of Dracula, and Dracula AD 1972, all 4 are Hammer Dracula films starring Christopher Lee, I had to pick it up since it was only 9.99 for 4 movies( 2 "flipper" DVD's with one movie per side), plus I had my 10% discount as well! It will be A LONG time before any of these Hammer classics get the blu treatment, if ever!

Thanks, I'm guessing that "One Million Years BC" will be the first Hammer Film on Blu-ray here in the states, Fox had it wonderfully restored for the DVD a few years ago. And I've got that one plus many from Anchor Bay that are now out of print, I plan on buying the Universal and Sony "Hammer" sets next.

Just bought the "Countess Dracula" and "Vampire Hunters" MGM 2-fer DVD for 5.00 from DeepDiscount. Also bought "Wild in the Streets" and "Gas-s-s-s" MGM 2-fer DVD for 5.00, had to buy 2 dvd's to get the 10.00 total. I doubt these will be on blu anytime soon, if ever.

Ah the films that made me a horror fanatic. Even though Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are two of my favorite actors, my favorite Hammer films are the Quatermass Xperiment (not available on DVD), Quatermass II, Quatermass and the Pit and X the Unknown. Because I missed Quatermass and the Pit's US release (and now it goes for $70 plus ugh), I bought the 21 DVD Hammer set from Amazon UK for $58 shipped (Warning it does require a region 2 or region free player). Currently I have 58 Hammer movies (which is way more than I have Blu-Rays). I also love all of Christopher Lee's Draculas, Peter Cushing's Frankensteins, and the Gorgon.
