Default What's Your OCD Completism Level?

Ok guys crashkelly and I were going off topic yesterday evening and I had a poll idea. If you're an OCD completist, you must have a line drawn somewhere and this poll will determinate it. I have uploaded a ton of pics in order to make sure everyone get the difference between each of the 5 levels.

Cheers,
Gui.

Default Level 1

LEVEL 1

Level 1 is for selective completists that might open their SteelBooks™, this is for those who only buy the best looking SteelBook™ avalaible for a particular movie. For example someone would buy the German Wanted instead of the one from UK.

Wanted (Germany)

Wanted (UK)

At this point you're safe an have the full control of your life.

Default Level 2

LEVEL 2

Level 2, we raise the bar a little higher this is for those who will buy several SteelBooks™ of the same movie as long as the artwork is different. Once again this level is suitable for both kind of SteelBook™ collectors. (those who open their SteelBooks™ or keep them sealed)

Here's a few examples.

Wanted UK & Germany

Terminator 2 Skynet (any Countries), Japan & Germany (HD-DVD)

The Dark Knight Canada, France (amazon.fr or FNAC), Germany, TDK/BB Germany & The Netherlands

Transporter 3 UK, Germany, France (trilogy) & Australia

10,000 BC Germany & UK

Hellboy II France & Germany

Gran Torino France (amazon.fr or FNAC) & Germany

Body of Lies France (amazon.fr or FNAC) & Germany

Iron Man Germany & Canada

Gladiator Germany & UK
Most of mine are ordered, pre-ordered or in transit, more to come... (a lot more)

Shoot 'Em Up Italy & Germany

1408 France & Germany

Death Proof Germany HD-DVD & Blu-Ray

The Mist Germany & France

I am Legend Germany & Canada

The Fast and the Furious 1-4 Germany, Italy and UK

At this stage your still good but the SteelBooks™ are taking a much bigger part of your budget. (if you have such a thing)

LEVEL 3

Level 3 is where it starts to get heavy. From now on only the sealed collectors are involved. This spot is for the collectors that buy loads of identicals SteelBooks™ depending on the Country of release.

Again there's some pictures.

Terminator 2 Skynet Editions UK, Germany, Mexico, The Netherlands & France

For a total of 7

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete Hong Kong, China, Thailand & Korea (I know I'm missing the one from Taiwan and Singapore)

Well if you reached this point you're getting yourself in a dangerous slope.

Default Level 4

LEVEL 4

Level 4 is where the disaster begins, if your in this category it means that you collect identicals SteelBooks™ of the same Country just because the store exclusives and UPCs are differents.

Here's a few SteelBooks™ in this category.

Tha Dark Knight (France) amazon.fr & FNAC

Gran Torino (France) amazon.fr & FNAC

Body of Lies (France) amazon.fr & FNAC

Babylon AD (France) amazon.fr & FNAC

Sweeney Todd (UK) play.com with booklet and regular release
(I know my play.com isn't sealed, I need another one with the UPC sticker...)

If you are there you became a nutcase just like a few collectors and you're welcome to the OCD assylum.

Default Level 5

LEVEL 5

I'm pretty sure this level as been created by my imagination but here it is. If you collect identicals SteelBooks™ of the same Country with the same UPC and still find some differences, you belong here. I'll have to explain each picture for this one.

The Dark Knight & Clone Wars (The Netherlands)
I own 2 of each but they have different shrinkwrap so I kept them both because of that.
One is folded and the other is sealed.

Close up shots

The Siprit (Germany)
Do you remember this one with the amaray sealed on top of the SteelBook™?
I keep my Steels sealed so I ordered one individually sealed for display and keep the other one as the real thing.

Close up shot

Gran Torino (Germany)
I own it twice, I have the one from amazon.de and another one from Switzerland with the same UPC but different packaging. (same UPC as amazon.de)
The Swiss one is better for display value when you collect sealed SteelBook™.

For a total of 4

Casino (France) amazon.fr & amazon.fr version.
I kept both of them because the blue on the ribbon of the SteelBooks™ are really different, the picture doesn't do them justice, it's like day and night.

And the last example I have is if you have a sealed and opened copy of a HTF SteelBook™ and don't want to part with the opened one because your attached to it.

John Rambo (Germany) sealed and opened

I am Legend (Canada) sealed and opened

Iron Man (Canada) sealed and opened

I truly hope we will only get 2 votes casted in this category, for this kind of collectors only one name fits, retarded. Infortunately that's where I'm at now.

How many SBs are you missing for World completion?

Your pretty new to this forum some pics could help me to believe there's someone else who own that many SBs too. My pics are all over this site but here's an almost up-to-date one.

I added a few more since.

Welcome aboard man!

Cheers,
Gui.

How are you guys gonna survive the onslaught of new steelbook releases?
It seems like there's a ton coming out!

I'm about a level 0.5

I have no ideas, there's at least 60 already scheduled before the end of the year.

The fun is gone.

Good poll but I think one more option would be good.
"buying steelbook only because it looks good and you dont care about the movie".
I think it could go between level 1 and 2.

P.S. I am pretty sure Leobrazza would be very high on the list, either level 4 or 5.

I'm leaning towards level 2:

I usually buy 1 steelbook of the common artwork and 1 steelbook of the "limited" artwork.

For example, I would buy 1 from Canada and 1 from Blufans.

Very rarely do I triple dip.

I was grabbing doubles and triples if I liked the artwork. I stopped doing that because it got too expensive so now I just stick with FilmArena, Nova and Blufans releases. My collection grows slower but it saves me a ton of money.

On the upside, completists of any level keep the business going and the studios should be kissing your feet and the executives should be praying for your good health daily.

On the downside, we're all quite disturbed, apparently have far too much money and have lost all insight into what's truly important in this world.
