Default I just finished Ninja Gaiden Sigma

And it was a wild ride to say the least.

It comes off as obscenely hard at first, actually gets easier after the first hour or so. Once I perfected the head slice and found places to farm for gold, I no longer felt I had to save every 30 seconds.

I'll also say: I felt slow and vulnerable playing as Rachael. Different specialty I suppose.

Coolest move had to be when Ryu carried a fiend into the air, the did a spinning, upside-down pile driver into the ground. I suspect it's something out of Dead or Alive.

Good series of boss fights to top the game off, though I wasn't a fan of the volcano escape. I was standing on a platform lining up my jump when for no reason, a cinematic started, my mountain crumbled, Ryu fell to his death.

For my next conquest: I'm moving back the PS2 for the 3 Devil May Crys and the last 2 Silent Hill titles. I only play games like those at night, and the winter brings with it more night hours.

Yeah Rachel is hard, I couldn't beat that guy in the trench coat! But its ok cause I only rented the game.

Silent Hill 2 is the only game I have ever played where I was genuinely 100% terrified probably more than I have ever experienced outside of the game world.

NGS is very difficult at times. Rachel is a...hmm... glass cannon is the right phrase to use I think. Her attacks are very slow compared to Ryu, so your window of vulnerability during attacks is much larger.

You really have to make heavy use of the block button with her because she's not nearly as athletic as Ryu is, though she makes up for it with exceptional strength.

Sigma would have been a lot better if they stuck to the forest feel of the game the beginning had.. it was visually awesome. The city is boring and unreal. I got to the last boss and said F the game lol. It was fun.. but beating a boss.. then doing all those really hard jumps.. then the final boss without any extra potions was too hard. I didn't want to waste my time.. I just convinced myself I beat the game

I could never play a game to the final boss just to put it back on the shelf. I'd consider cheating if it came to that. Not that I cheat at games I've yet to finish by the rules.

Oy, I hate that game. There's a fine line between "challenging" and "frustrating", and it cruises right over that line at 90 MPH, heading straight for "rage-inducing".

It's like the next-gen equivalent of Ghosts & Goblins.

You didn't get to unlock the Missions, the insanely intense arcade mode ...

Wow, what a coincidence. I just finished the game yesterday, myself. I told myself I had to beat it before I started playing Assassins Creed.

I have never wanted to cry more in my entire life. That is how I felt while playing the game. It was soooooooo damn difficult. I kept wanting to abandon the way of the ninja, but I didn't, I kept at it, and now I can play AC.

P.S. Anybody else find Rachel's jiggling breasts hypnotizing, LOL.

Seems to be a fascination of Tecmo's (Team Ninja esp.) these days.

Speaking of which: anyone here have Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin? Get a Witch on the screen and just watch her for a second.

LOL!
I picked up this game the week it was released. Wanted to show my support for Team Ninja as they're not crybabies or complainers like many other companies. Seems like everyone loathes programming for the PS3 because it's too difficult to develop for

I only played it for 1 hour or so. Got to the first boss and got my @$$ kicked.

Went back to FFXII, and now FFX. Will get back to NGS when I get a few more past RPG's done I never made the time to play.
Can't wait for FFXIII!

Im on chapter 6, thinking im like 1/2 way done with the game. Read a FAQ to see how many levels.. 18 chapters!!! I am doomed. The game is a lot easier once you learn the head slicing, but even then, those enemys are ridiculously tough. And how do you get to play in Ninja Dog mode?! I thought the PS3 version had it, i never saw the option for it!

Die a buncha times. After a while, it'll ask you if you want to continue on the Path of the Ninja or some such thing. Say "no". You'll get to continue in Ninja Dog mode.

Note: It's still a PITA. But, y'know, slightly less so.

Ninja Gaiden is awesome. Yes I have dies in it but to me it was the best action game I played since the first DMC. I have beat it 3 times (2 times on Xbox1, and 1 on PS3)I beat the PS3 one on Normal but as a achievement I always beat the game without using any of my rebirth talismans. Rachel was rock hard (damn that Gamov) but after playing the game so much before I enjoyed the extra challenge. It's a gamers game, much like Jak 2.

Give the twin swords a try if you haven't already; they're very protective, and great against zombies. Best thing about them is the if you miss with a jumping overhead, you can immediately do a spin strike when you land.
