Default I'm taking my PS3 and TV on a trip....

I currently have it in my car( I am at work for the next 6 hours). It is 50 degrees outside, obviously will get colder. Will my LCD tv, my blu-ray discs, and my ps3 be ok?

Thumbs up Should be ok

50 degrees shouldn't be a problem. That is well within storage parameters.

I would be more concerned about the car being broken into than anything else. Hopefully everything is out of sight.

Are you taking them with you when you visit family for the holidays?

If so, it may be an opportunity to win over some new Blu-ray/PS3 fans.

Im in a private parking lot. I have a civic Si hatchback, so my tv and ps3 are covered with blankets, and the screen has a pillow over it, while my movies are in a standard suitcase. I am taking it home so my sister's fiance can see what the ps3 can do. He wants to get one for himself and his parents.

Wrapped in a blanket, with a pillow covering the screen.

I think that it is not good to transport an LCD with the screen face down, even if you have blankets/padding.

The additional stress could break the glass.

But I take it that you have it face up or vertical, which is ok.

By the way, nice car. I am a Honda fan too.

It is Face up, I did that because I had the pillow in my car, and who knows what could happen.

You should just make sure no one can see it if you ever leave the car alone. It will become a prime target of any thief...

The car is parked right next to my office. Even when I have to run onto the floor or into the warehouse I'm not too worried, as the only people that know about it live with me.

Isn't it bad for the tv if its laying down one side for a long period of time? The guys at BB didn't want to load my new plasma when i got it because they said they didn't want to be responsible for it not working because of that. I told them I would only drive 15 mins and the guy wanted me to leave it upright overnight before turning it on. I waited a total of 1 hr, lol

Funny thing about that is that if it didn't work you could take it back to another BB and they would have no idea of how it was loaded...heck even taking it back to the same store, customer service would have no knowledge of that either.

Plasma is a different style of TV than LCD. Since LCD is mostly mechanical, everything inside of it is nested tightly in place. Plasma laying on its side or at any angle other than upright throws the design for containing the plasma fluid itself out of whack... hence the "leave it upright overnight" suggestion so that the liquid could settle into the state in which the TV was designed to contain it.
