the supplements are kind of a letdown, even if a Tim Lucas commentary track might be good. This was the moment to produce some element regarding Jospeh Pevney, one of many Hollywood unsung heroes/directors (among other choices).

I love this flick. It's your usual Hollywood bio pic, but anything about Chaney is a must have.

Cagney of course is always excellent.

Looking forward to owning this.

Am I the only one who thought about Robert Evans when I saw this title in the review section? Robert Evans the legendary film producer, as a young upstart actor. To quote the man himself:

"I was a half-assed actor, and I knew it.

I knew I'd never become the next Paul Newman...

...maybe the next Troy Donahue.

But do you know who I really wanted to become?

The next Darryl Zanuck."

I cannot wait to see this movie. Looks like a great blu-ray release.

I had never seen this film until I streamed it on OK after the Arrow Acadmey blu-ray was announced. I loved it. Now I just got my copy yesterday and it is a flawless transfer! Well recommended.

Watched this last night. Holy crap is the transfer on this good. Couldn't believe the film came out in 1957. Looked amazing. Movie was mostly good, but a little bit too much focus on Lon Chaney's family life versus movie life.

Does anyone else see a frame drop glitch at 56:37 when Lon worries about not being able to find work again? Could it be the film source or an encode error?

Just picked up a copy today at my local Barnes & Noble. So happy the Arrow Video sale is going on until the 1st of December! Can't wait to check it out soon!

I ran my copy from 56.00 and beyond and did not notice anything that you are describing. Perhaps you may want to exchange your copy from your seller. Good luck!
