I'm rooting for Interstellar to win, though I wouldn't be surprised if Big Hero 6 takes the spot (it'll probably be very close, though).

Big Hero 6 and Interstellar will be neck for neck, but I think Disney will come out on top.

Yeah, could go either way. But I feel Interstellar will win opening weekend especially since it has the IMAX sales to it's advantage, and Big Hero 6 isn't close enough to Thanksgiving to bring in enough kids and parents on holiday. However, I do expect Big Hero 6 to have legs over the next several weeks until Mockingjay Part 1 comes out, and even then, I can see BH6 having big numbers during turkey weekend, possibly #1. Interstellar's BO numbers will slowly drop over time.

I'm hoping Interstellar destroys the box office this weekend.

Heard it's only suppose to open to $65 million, with a final expected total of $285 million domestic.

Hoping Disney/Marvel comes out with the upset.

Interstellar will take the weekend, even if the underwhelming reviews are correct, it will be the talking point of everyone come the Monday back at work, people are going to want to chime in and offer there thoughts.

Big Hero Six will do well, but it'll do the same as the last couple of Disney films, start off slightly under the radar, but pick up momentum through Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yeah, the IMAX factor should push it over the edge.

I voted for Big Hero 6.
It doesn't matter who wins anyway. I'll end up blind buying both movies on release day.

Either way both are going to do well. They both look good and they are targeting different audiences. Families with kids will be seeing Big Hero 6 while older teens and up will be seeing Interstellar. Never underestimate the power of counter-programming. I intend to see both. Baymax is gonna rule! Every child out there is gonna want one for their very own.

Interstellar - $51.6 opening weekend

Big Hero 6 - $35.8 opening weekend (looks pretty lame)

Big Hero 6 will crush Interstellar...PG-rated, 90-minute Disney superhero movie vs. 165 minute non-franchise Big Think sci-fi? I don't care how much of a following Christopher Nolan has, Interstellar will be lucky if it cracks $40 million.

I'm rooting for Interstellar but I gotta be realist on this one and admit that Big Hero 6 will most certainly take the #1 spot.

Given its length, the Cinemark in Dallas with an IMAX screen is only scheduling three showings per day, even on weekends. 8 PM is the last showing.

It looks like its going to be a very tight competition with these two. If Interstellar takes the #1 spot we know its because its been playing since Tuesday in most theaters.
