It actually looks like a decent release from MC, at least as far as extras go. Actually surprised Universal didn't just put this out themselves.

Agreed about being distributed by Mill Creek. Their releases are a hit or miss. I pre-ordered it anyways. I have a digital copy which looks better than my DVD. I'm hoping the DTS-MA 5.1 sounds good. I still wish they released a 4k version. This was a great disc back in the day.

I almost bought a used DVD of this the other day for $3, but when I looked closer at the case it said EDITED FAMILY FRIENDLY VERSION across the top. So the timing on this is perfect.

Now watch Mill Creek use the "edited family friendly" cut on their blu-ray.

Finally. Mill Creek release definitely gives me pause, but lossless audio has been confirmed. Can't screw it up too bad, right...?

Yes! I’ve been waiting for so long and sold my DVD forever ago because I never expected it to take this long. I’ve streamed it a few times since, but I love this movie and can’t wait to own it again. I’ll keep the blu-ray this time while waiting for a 4K release.

The HD digital version looks good and they got all the DVD extras. As long as the compression is good, I'll be happy, although they should really add the 8-minute cast reunion video Universal put out on their social media earlier this year:

Aren’t Mill Creek releases usually cheaper than 20 bucks? Or will it probably drop soon?

Either way I am so excited to see this is finally coming. I hope it’s a solid release but yeah…MC gives me pause.

Okay, I am actually quite genuinely excited for this. Much like the movie going public, I blew it off when it was released as a stupid adaption of a stupid cartoon. And then Best Bad Movie Ever covered it, gushed on about it at length - and won me over at least to give it a rental from Scarecrow.

Little did I know, I was about to watch the most sarcastic, sardonic, self-aware, clever take down of the music business since Spinal Tap. No, seriously - it's THAT good. Just a tiny taste to help win you over.

If it comes out and you can get it for 10 bucks? Gowan, skip your mocha a couple of days and give it a shot.

Amazon often doesn't discount things when they first go up for pre-order. It'll almost certainly be $13.99 or something like that prior to release.
