There are 2 blu rays on Region B and im not sure if there the same quality or is one is better than the other. Have searched reviews but cant find any for the first link so it makes me wonder if there the same release

Any help is appreciated.

the more expensive release is a "mediabook" style. the disc is the same. the newer release could miss some of the bonus features.

if you want the "best" non region A release you should get the italian release.
(it has the transfer of the superior Criterion OOP release and some of the Studiocanal bonus features)

The links you posted are from the same label - StudioCanal - and are the exact same transfer.

This digibook version does have extras, but will go OOP soon and is the obvious choice if you're fussed about extras (though do bare in mind it's a digibook rather than an amaray):

This re-released amaray edition has no extras (that I'm aware of, I could be wrong) but is generally cheaper:

And finally there is a Zavvi exclusive steelbook version still available, which I'm guessing is the same as the amaray (so no extras):

Worth looking into the price to see if it's worth it - obviously the amaray edition is about half the price (on Rakuten anyway...worth checking Amazon, Zavvi, Play.com, Base and maybe even eBay or HMV/Fopp).

I paid about £6 or less for the amaray edition (at HMV) as I'm not hugely fussed about extras - it's more about the film. Plus the artwork was better. Same goes for most of the StudioCanal Collection titles so I'm told...no extras on the re-released versions (Mulholland Drive, Delicatessen, The Graduate etc).

If you're interested in Carol Reed, I'd recommend his film Odd Man Out as well:

The transfer is great on both by the way (The Third Man and Odd Man Out).

The Zavvi exclusive steelbook does have extras. All the titles in the Studio Canal Collection digibook range which have been released as steelbooks, have these discs in

Ah dammit, so I lost out. Worth mentioning the Zavvi steelbook is the same price as the amaray version...so makes sense to get that one if the OP was gonna get it!

Not a bootleg as far as I can tell. I bought one a while back and it's really worth seeking out. The Studio Canal disc looks bad in comparison

I think the transfers were taken off the Criterion BDs, shame as a lot of people were looking at that label enthusiastically!

I recently bought the steelbooks for Mulholland Drive & The Pianist and lovely they are too. As matty says they have all the extras from the digibooks but not the accompanying booklet.

I've tried to prise the booklet out of the digibook to put in the steelbook but mine are glued to the inside cover of the digibook.

Interesting...does that mean it has the superior disc for The Pianist? I seem to remember people saying get the digibook 'cause the amaray was no good...it's one of my favourite Polanski's so I may have to get it!

Most definitely a bootleg. And it's not by pure chance all the titles announced by Studio 4K for last spring never materialized (Lady From Shanghai, Macbeth etc.).

Rapta the bonus material for the steelbook version is identical to that for the digibook (as it is the same transfer/disc) such as the interviews with Ronald Harwood, Daniel & Andrzej Szpilman. It is however not mentioned on the card attached to the steelbook.

It's currently £12-99 a slight increase from the £11-69 for which it was available the previous week.

Of course I missed that I didn't even check up on the studio to see their other films at the time. Wow that's kind of crazy. Guess I got duped! and they're defunct now. At least I can tell people I have the Criterion Third Man
