Default Individual cases or Boxsets?

Do you guys prefer to own movies that are in a series (ie; Die Hard, Jurassic Park etc) as a boxset or have them as individual cases? Or does it matter at all to you.

Box sets are my preferred option, once you reach 500+ movies, or in my case 1000+, storage becomes an issue. Box sets offer the same movies in a condensed packaging.

I prefer box sets myself, being more compact - and sometimes due to odd titling, seeing as I like to keep my discs strictly alphabetized. Though ultimately I will buy whatever I can get the cheapest.

Individual cases, hands down! I even buy my tv shows per season, even if a complete boxset has been released. Don't know why, but a boxset really bothers me.

I prefer boxsets if they are in a boxset and are fairly cheap. There's some boxsets that take up more room than their individual releases though.

+1 Can't stand box sets... don't have any rational reason, it's just the way it is with me. I don't even like the double features. I like each of my movies to have a separate box.

Boxsets. I like to keep it as simple as possible.

If I want the whole or majority of a series (ex: Alien, Indiana Jones) then I'll go for the box set. But if I only want one or two movies from a series (ex: Die Hard, Jurassic Park) I'll pick them up individually.

Space concerns and packaging can sometimes be a major factor.

I prefer each film get its own plastic case. I dislike cardboard packaging, like the Bond 50 set or Alien Anthology. Those are nice, pretty sets but it makes getting the discs out a hassle, and in the case of Bond 50 is harder to store/display.

That said I just prefer individual cases, I'm not OCD about it.

Put me down for individual cases. Box sets usually come in crappy packaging, and they look inconsistent on my shelf due to their various size, uneven edges/tops/bottoms, crushed/bent corners, etc. The only box set I really like a lot is The Lord Of The Rings extended edition trilogy. That's it. Even the Star Wars box set is ugly.

Default Individual cases or Boxsets?

Kubrick Box Set (good)
Indiana Jones Box Set (good)
Alien Box Set (good)
LOTR EE box set (good)
Vacation Box Set (bad)
Ghostbusters 1&2 (bad)

All Hitchcock ... Individual

I don't really have a preference .. I rip all my blus to my plex server anyway.

I'm a fan of theatrical one-sheets so I like it when associated promotional artwork is used for each individual title, which requires individual cases (like the recent Halloween set, which a perfect and desirable example). Otherwise, if the company that's releasing the set decides to use some other crap for art, then I feel they might as well just put all the titles in one package with the title of the series on the spine and front and leave the rest completely blank/white.

Individual... nothing ruins a good box set more than a new movie being announced.

I usually buy the box sets. I have huge collection but plenty of room. Box sets usually have more features. I usually get which ever has the best features and artwork. For example I will buy a digibook of a movie that's in a box set like exorcist or Halloween.

I prefer individual, going as far as making my own cases. for example Bond films (as there are always going to be more bond films) and individual seasons for Friends.
