Default 174K PS3 Were Sold Last Week

174,000 PS3 were sold last week! Awesome news. Although, the PS3 stills trails the Wii and the XBOX 360 in weekly sales, the PS3 has been leading in sales growth for the past three weeks!

Actually if you look at worldwide sales numbers for last week the PS3 actually beat the X360!!!! (Only by 400 units, but still awesome!)

PS3: 332,887
X360: 332,471

If you look at total units sold (45 mil for PS2 and 2.6 mil for PS3) that would seem to indicate north america.

EDIT: Oh, and that at the top of the chart it says "American."

Remember, if your a kid with friends that there are 4x times 360's out there with their buddies already playing 360. That does make it more difficult for ps3 to break through.

I would be thinking all my friends are playing on 360??

Ah, but 90,000,000+ kids are still playing their PS2 and just waitin' for Mom and Dad to get hip to the new HDTV jive so they can ask for the PS3.

Though I suspect a lot of those "kids" are now 19 or 20 years old (as with my kid) and hoping some nice benevolent parent figure buys them an HDTV for their pad (along with the PS3). My son the other day just innocently brought up how cheap the PS3 is now. Innocent my butt!!!

That adds up to a lot of happy people.

PS3 has brought back fun to my Home Theater Hobby.

I'm glad to see so many people joining the fun.
