Wait .. Is that HD DVD standalones + HD DVD Xobx add ons vs Blu Ray standalones + all PS3s sold?

If so, despite me being a big Blu Ray adopter, this is unfortunately some misleading graphics (due to the amount of PS3s not used as Blu Ray players) that Toshiba will attack like a pack of rabid dogs.

If it is not including all PS3s sold, how was this graphic made ?

In the end disc sales are what matters, and that is 73% in favour of Blu-ray for this year.

How does having a 3:1 software sales advantage AND a bunch of people already owning a Blu-ray player and not yet using it help HD DVD at all?

i believe the same number was announced last september:
according to gfk:
70% of standalone players are HD DVD, but if PS3 and XBOX360 Add-ons included, it's 94% to BD

Well, this kind of figures are always misleading and are used differently by BD and HD-DVD camp. You can count players only, players and game console, or even players, game consoles and computers. And for each case you have major differences...

What is important at the end is the ratio of medias BD // HD-DVD, nothing else. And unlike Nielsen in the US, there is no official report in Europe (yet), neither in France where I leave. Un-officially, the ratio in France varies between 55/45 and 45/55 so needless to say that this un-needed war is not yet over...
