Default Metallica blus

I had made this thread before, but then the board crashed and it was lost so I figured I'd make it again.

So, who owns the Metallica blus? Mainly all of the ones besides the Big 4 release.

From what I can tell from YouTube videos, it's pretty close between Mexico City and Nimes, but I think I'm leaning towards Mexico City being better?

Thoughts?

Both are good, but I think I preferred the Mexico City concert to Nimes.

The Nimes one visually is my favorite but as far as variety is concerned I'd say the Mexico/Copenhagen releases are pretty much neck and neck.

Can't wait to see what this "more magnetic" release winds up looking like when it finally appears.

There are 4 Metallica Blu-rays currently. 2 are also extremely difficult to come by.

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax; The Big 4
Metallica: Orgullo Pasión y Gloria: Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México

These are the 2 found almost anywhere..

Now, the next 2? Good luck acquiring them at a reasonable cost!

Metallica: Français pour une nuit -
From what I understand, there were audio sync issues with the production run. But then again, I'm not completely sure as to the reasons why.

Metallica: Fan Can 6 - Coppenhagen
This was only available to the Metallica fan club via Fan Can 6.

Now, there is a new Blu-ray scheduled for release this December, from a concert recorded by Wayne Isham back from October 2009 in Quebec.

If I get anymore information, I'll follow up and let you know.

When it comes to my opinion, the Fan Can 6 Blu-ray is my favorite. Filmed by the fans, for the fans, you got a real sense of being at the show. Second would be Nimes. Just overall, amazing show and visuals. The Big 4 show comes in third, because, we'll, it's the big 4. Mexico is last because I didn't really enjoy the show that much. Perhaps it was the editing, or something else... It was an okay show.

I have the Mexico show on DVD and I want to get the BD but I haven't found it at cheap prices online. I can't find the France show at cheap prices on DVD or Blu. I haven't gotten around to buying The Big 4 yet but I've seen parts of it. I'm not even attempting to get the Copenhagen show. I don't need it.

I have the french one and like it alot, I've had no sync issues playing it in my PS3. I also have big 4. I was going to get Mexico, but it was like $40.

Wow, I just saw what they are going for now, I remember paying about $30 shipped for the import from France.

Why would you say you don't need it? It's a simply amazing show to see, hear and own IMHO.

For whatever reason, they're becoming increasingly difficult to get at a reasonable price. The Nimes Blu-ray is downright outrageous. You can find it on eBay for cheap, but I can assure you they are bootlegs.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to have it, but since I'm not a diehard Metallica fan, I wouldn't want to spend an arm and a leg on it.

There we go, that makes sense then. The only way to get it was to be in the Metallica fan club, and purchase Fan Can 6. To me, being a die hard Metallica fan... I would have spent $150 if I had to.

I'd recommend getting it thru Best Buy for $44.99. That seems like it wouldn't be to painful, that's only like $15.00 more than I paid for it.

You cannot touch the Nimes Blu-ray anywhere at retail. They no longer exist. They are OOP. Trust me. The only real option for it is Amazon.com, and even that is well over $250.

And as far as the Copenhagen Blu-ray goes, It's gone, never to be reproduced. Never sold at retail. Your only hope is eBay. And even that might be bootlegged.

$16 retail? Nice. That means $10-$12 on Amazon probably.

While I am very excited for this release, I just don't like the cover art at all.

Default Metallica Blus

I have all the Blu-ray available so far. I have Mexico BD, the Fan Can VI BD, France BD, and the Big 4. Also preordered Quebec BD from amazon. It is nice Metallica is putting it out through their own label: so maybe they will do that more often now and have lower prices on their future releases. as a MetClub member I already find their deal pretty sweet, even if it is about 45 bucks a year to be a member of the club: the deals are too many to pass up. Plus, the Fan Can with the BD was only about 65 bucks and it is a great collector's item.

My fav of all the BDs is the Fan Can VI Bd followed by the France BD. I prefer the Mexico BD to the Big 4 BD, but not by much.

If anyone is willing to pay about $80 plus shipping I would be willing to sell one of my Nimes BDs (I have the french release and the UK release). both share exactly the same specs, and I have never watched my UK BD, though it is not shrinkwrapped anymore.

PS
Also agree that S&M would be an awesome BD.
