I voted, but was curious about the disclaimer "poll results are subject to error"

But let's face it, this is really a "how many PS3 or 360 fans can vote the most" poll...

I dont understand how people can believe that hddvd has a fighting chance. With the ps3 coming out, you add sooooo many potential bluray movie purchases.

The result is this because the site is xBox fanboys and they vote HD DVD.

As you would expect, this is FUD and HD-DVD zealot fodder for days on forums like AVS.

This is pure gospel fact to them already and the PS3 has already lost because of this. It's already been spammed at least half a dozen times just since this morning.

As usual, these zealots talk out of both sides of their mouths: On one hand, the PS3 is "just a game console" and "won't figure into BD at all" but now because almighty and perfect Microsoft is putting out an HD-DVD add on for THEIR game console, THAT matters greatly.

How did Microsoft become such a darling on home theater forums, of all places?

First of all, I have some serious doubts about these figures.

Second of all: What kind of controls were put on this poll to begin with?

Was it public? Could any random idiot vote in it a thousand times they wanted to?

And even if this number is correct, how does it look against the 400,000 PS3s that will be out there by year's end?

Sure, all of those PS3 people aren't going to buy BD. They don't have to.

A decent percentage of them will, and that percentage doesn't have to be very high at all to become a signifigant factor.

You all can do the math on that.

BD will win without my vote.

Xbox users that want Hd-DVD is only a very small niche market to Xbox 360 user who are totlay satisfied with their console the way it is. Ps3 users nomater how much they are a core gamer, will wonder what Blu-ay looks like on the PS3, since it's capable right out of the box. i mean wouldn't you.

Infact I want PS3 soley for Blu-ray. Without Blu-ray i would have not even considerd a PS3.

By the end of this year the advantages of larger manufacture suport, and studio suport will start to bury HD-DVD without PS3's help. PS3 is the stake in the heart.

Go Blu-ray. One media to rule them all.
