Default New BD's at Costco

Was at Costco at lunch today and saw several 3-packs of BD's......one of them was Casino Royale/Ghost Rider/and one other.......was in a hurry so I didn't take note of the others.maybe someone else can elaborate....$69.99 for the three.

Even though this is great, I wish they would just sell them as singles.

Costco Chantilly, VA

That is great, and $69.99 for the three isn't a bad deal, seeing as they retail for upwards of $30 a piece. It would be nice if they did have them seperately, but think about this. Costco and Sam's Club sell items in bulk. Now for someone new to Blu Ray seeing these sets would make a nice addition to their own collection, not to mention Christmas gifts. So if you think about it it's a win-win situation.

Two of the Costco stores here in San Diego started with just the set, but are now selling quite a few titles individually. They had about 40 copies of FFROTS the other day when I went in and several other newer releases along with the bundles. All of the individuals are $26.99. They had movies from pretty much every studio.

There was a thread on this a couple of days ago. I mentioned that Costco has and is selling single Blu's along with Combo Packs, at least up here in Washington and I believe someone else mentioned they had them in their area as well and now we see it in California.

HD-DVD has their combo's in as well, but no singles.

FYI

There were a few HD DVD singles in the costco here in San Diego, but they have been the same ones for a few weeks and it doesn't look like they are re-ordering so far. The Blu-Ray selection has grown and the HD DVD selection has shrank. Not reading into this at all, could just be no good sellers have come out for them.

The Woodinville Costco had Surf's Up yesterday. I already had it from Netflix, but after checking it out last night (watched half of it by 2 am, but had to get some sleep), I'm pretty sure I am going to go pick it up. The ChubbChubb shorts are great and I'm loving the movie. Great presentation so far.

Along a similar vein, Sam's Club here in Casselberry had 300, Surf's Up, Deja Vu, and a couple of other titles mixed in with standard def titles yesterday. The prices weren't heavily discounted (300 was around $25 if I remember correctly), but at least they're starting to show up in more retail outlets...

Not a single HD-DUD, btw.

Yep, my Sam's Club replaced the HD-DUD setup with the Sony 300 Blu-Ray setup and they have a half decent selection of the recent bigger titles like FF4 2, Surf's Up at relatively good prices ($28 for FF4 2). no more HD-DVD players and just a handful of the old titles that have been there for a while.
