I agree that it is a classic and would benefit greatly by being brought over to Blu.

It was a CLASSIC skit on the Chapelle show. "Tron" in the picture, was pleading the "fifth" amendment. His interpretation of "fifth" was "fif"

Here's my prediction of Tron on BD.

"What the hell? Disney dropped the ball! There's grain everywhere!!!"

Man... Tron would be amazing on BD. All of that beautiful color would pop right off the screen. There is a ton of grain, of course, but the 70mm source would be amazing. I'd also really like to see Disney's The Black Hole as well...

The Last Starfighter was classic old school Sci-Fi, however pleading the "Fif " does indeed make up for everything.

I can't really see gaining anyting from watching Last Starfighter in HD. The graphics BACK THEN were amazing.
But today... I think I'd rather poke out my eye with a spork...
J/K
but seriously, my MMORPG games on my computer run better graphics than that movie in real time. I don't see how looking at the bad graphics in higher resolution will do anything but make it look worse.
Tron is more stylized and suppose to look like that, so I could see that one benefitting from HD.

Actually believe it or not, the Last Starfighter is coming out on HD DVD this fall. That really blows because I love that movie.

But as far as Tron is concerned, it is one of my all time favorites. I got the 20th anniversary special edition on dvd in 2002 and it looks pretty good upconverted, but lets face it, it is no Blu-ray.

The computer sequences were shot 70mm,but only because they were going to be put through so many generations. It's going to be a very low res, grain city in HD, simply because there are sometimes DOZENS of trips through the optical printer for each shot.

The *****ing will be endless I'm sure

Talking Who wants Disneys TRON on Blu-ray?

Ok, I am showing my age a little here. But you can understand why I would want my "name sake" on BD.

I ordered TRON on VHS at a video store before I even bought my VHS player in 1986. It was my first VHS. I saw it in the theater in 1982 and had not seen it for 4 years at this point. It still had a tremendous impact on me.

One day in 2002 my brother borrowed 20 bucks from me. Instead of paying me back, he picked up the 20th Anniversay edition of TRON to repay me. It was thoughtful, but I didn't even own a DVD player yet. So it was my first DVD. Monster House was my first BD, but go figure.

Over the years I have probably seen TRON a dozen times and no part of it is not familiar to me anymore. But I am DYING to see this on blu-ray.

Who else wants it?
