John Carpenter's Vampires on Blu-ray!!

I had been looking around at the releases in different countries and lo and behold I managed to find John Carpenter's Vampires from Germany and I just had to order it as I think it is an awesome vampire flick.

I haven't watched it yet but when I do I will post feedback on the image and soundquality.

i live in the uk so all of the blu rays in europe work over here

i ordered mine from jpc.de they have a english option but it took awhile to ship only just got the shipping notice today and they don't give you a estimae delivery time so im not sure if i would deal with them again.

As I wrote in another thread this Disc contains the heavily cut FSK 16 version. Sorry guys :-((

just finished watching it and I knew it was cut but I didn't know it would be cut as bad as it is. Most of the action scenes are cut down quite conciderably I think about 10 minutes is cut. It is still really watchable but annoying as a lot of the cuts are obvious.

The picture quality was better than any of the dvds i have seen of it but it looks really soft and could be far far better. I would rate it about 6/10

sound wise it isn't any better than a normal dvd as it only has an english 5.1 DD soundtrack. I would say about 6/10

In terms of extras there is nothing other than a making of and some trailers, none of which are in english.

all in all it is ok but it is nowhere near as special as I had hoped for and I would probably say it would be better to hold out for an Uncut English release.

Sony are bound to release this at some stage. It'd need some work though, the Superbit looked absolutely terrible, worse than the original release.

This title has not earned any Blu-ray as a means to be!

after just watching it the hotel ambush scene is cut so its pretty much bloodless but they did keep in valek using a women as a human shield and getting shot............

and the attack on the church by the masters at the end is also pretty left out totally you just see a bit of the after math...........
