Anyone own this title in blu? so far I have been checking every retailer for the last two weeks and no one seems to have it in stock? All are unsure as to when they might have it in. I live in the chicagoland area...I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem.

Also I tried searching the thing on the forums and I couldn't find a mega thread.

Same problem here. Not at my local Best Buy, Circuit City or anywhere else. Maybe it was a low print run???

I looked for it everywhere the first week it was supposed to be released and never could find it anywhere and none of the clerks at any store knew when it would be in. I finally ordered as part of the horror 3 pack with Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead for $41.00 from Amazon and had it within 2 days. I'm finding Amazon is the best place to go for "newly" released catalog titles. It was well worth it too since The Thing got a great transfer on PQ and AQ.

If you liked the documentary that was on the DVD, save it when you buy the Blu-Ray. I sold my DVD first. Bad call, Ripley . . .

I to have had no luck finding the movie. I've tried Best Buy , Future Shop and Wally Mart. Its a classic and one of the best horror sci-fi flicks period. These retailers should treat catalog titles a little better.

Suncoast/FYE have them on the shelves here in Pennsylvania, granted it didn't come out right on that first Tuesday like the Dawn and Land of the Deads did, but it was there the following week.

Be aware that this US Blu is on a BD-25 and has lost extras from previous DVD & HD DVD versions. In other countries its a BD-50 with all the HD DVD extras intact. If this matters to you, you might want to track down a UK version, for example.

I got mine as part of Amazon's Horror 3-pack. Haven't watched it yet, but have seen it several times before, and after reading the review here, I know I won't be disappointed!

This is a must buy and can be found pretty cheap. Like you and several have mentioned, it doesn't seem to have landed in B and M's except sporadically, so I had to order online. Shame if you wanted it today, as it would be an excellent Halloween viewing.

If the extras are in HD or encoded in HD, that's fine. But if it's in PAL, there's no point in having the extras for us Region As.
