It probably is region free if it's a Universal release.

Me Too!!! Im waiting for Red Dragon Blu ray, wanted to order it weeks ago but wasnt sure if it was region free or not? So I got Hannibal and Hannibal Rising in Germany and UK both region free! Please let me know about Red Dragon! The Hannibal Collection in US sucks doesnt even have Hannibal Rising or Red Dragon. If Your going to put Manhunter in the collection than put all of the films in!!!

You could import the Hong Kong release of Red Dragon which is indeed region A.

So, the U.K. version of Hannibal Rising isn't region free, but Hannibal is region free?

^^^^ I think you misread what you quoted. Anyway I have the UK Hannibal Rising and it is region free - it played on my US BD30.

I ordered both Red Dragon and Hannibal from Amazon UK and they shipped. I'll try to report back their region status.

Ordered Red Dragon from UK will get it by Tuesday the 15th will know whether it is region free or not it is region free in Australia I just found out!

Europe & Australia are both region b, So everything from Europe will play on Australian players & vice versa.

Just finished wathcing it. it is indeed region free and far superioir to the HD-DVD version as I did some back and forth. Very high bit rate AVC encode as compared to the VC-1 HD-DVD. It is on a BD50 and it shows, as the grain structure is much better defined and natural looking with bitrates varying from 25MBS to 36MBS, with an average of somewhere around 30.

Can't go wrong with this release even though it's NO Manhunter!

Which was my first hint that it was region free but was not sure till I recei ved it Monday from UK! It is indeed Region Free

I also got this from Amazon UK. Not only is it region free, but the bonus features are in NTSC format so there are no playback issues.
